Well was time for the 5 year Power Train Warranty Inspection. 118,000 miles on the old girl. Needed an oil change anyway and had check engine light on for the last 5,000 miles Sooooo took her in. Scan tool flashed a stuck intake runner butterfly code. So figured i would take advantage of killing 2 birds with one stone. Have the intake replaced under the warranty and the power train inspection done too at no charge to me. Ok first they don't say anywhere that the transmission service is $350.00 OK i can live with that it was time for it again. But the exhaust manifold has small heat cracks in it they said would have to be replaced before the inspection could be done. #1 question how did they know that those cracks were there you have to pull off the heat shields top and bottom to see them. Be aware that those cracks are very fine but multiple, Around the area heading tward the bung hole for the O2 sensor and in the nest pic commin from the exhaust runners near the Cat, #2 the manifold on the 4x4 is also the Catalytic Converter not covered under warranty yea 70,000 emission warranty for the cat but at 118,000 miles even though the cat was good not a warranty item (PICS ENCLOSED). $600.00 plus labor for the exhaust manifold. So, surprise for me! Even thought they did replace the complete intake, reseal the oil pan for FREE PARTS AND LABOR under the warranty. ANYBODY else have the exhaust cracking problem. $1,500.00 bill. can't bitch too much I guess Oil and filter synthetic oil, complete transmission service w/fluid, intake manifold for free, oil pan reseal for free, and the dammed exhaust manifold Parts and labor, I got off easy i think. next month the wifes 4x4 Pat same year goes in but w/32,000 miles so if the exhaust manifold is bad (cracked) they can replace it for free under the emission warranty

I am having the same issue with mine. I have 194,000km on mine but it has cracked in the same places as you have shown in your pics. The manifold does make noise when you do a cold start for a few mins until the metal expands and seals the cracks, also you can smell the exhaust inside the cabin at first start up. this is probably how they knew it was cracked. I am a mechanic so i just removed the manifold and welded it but it is a little ridiculous that it's cracking.

yea if I knew it was cracked I would have welded it up but since it was al ready at the dealership and they would not do the inspection I had no choice, But I am thinking on making a header so you can use a cat back header system. When I get the time.
