Thanks for posting the info from your dyno run. we need more of that on this site.do you have a baseline run to compare with to tell if those times are an improvement? Either way congrats on having the fastest patriot on the forum!!! Are the 4x2s generally faster than the 4x4s?

I just looked up that Ipod dyno, that is pretty sweet!!! Ha i doubt that its all that accurate,(probably just as good as all the other accelerometer gizmos) but still to use it to compare before and after 0-60 times that is great!!!

And this is proof enough that you have the fastest Patriot on the forum. No one else has any data that I have seen, whether its from an mp3 player or phone or even a dragstrip.....HA.

Maybe you could post some of the results you got from your Ipod, that would be cool too.

No, the resistance is the same, its determined by the gap of air. The only difference is the material that catches/carries the spark. Platinum lasts longer, Iridium does as well because their melting points are much higher than copper and the cheaper materials.

I've always used NON-OEM platinum plugs on all my past Jeeps and never had a single problem.

I always heard you can't use Platinum in a Wrangler, and did it anyways and put 70k miles on one set.

Maybe things were different before electronic ignition, but things seem to work well for me.

As a 62 year old Jeep Tech, I have found that all mopar vechicles run best with the stock plugs because the resistance of some aftermarket plugs causes misfires and Check engine lights.
My 2005 dodge dakota ran much better with a different plug than the oem. Matter of fact I used a colder plug and the engine ran so much smoother.

Question....do you need to replace the wires as well when you switch to the E3s? I've always had the wires replaced during routine tune-ups, but at 30,000 miles it seems a bit premature. However if you go with a higher performance plug, are there wires that complement these plugs?

just ordered my set from Jeg's. came out to $33 shipped, supposedly like 2 day shipping. Stay tuned to this thread as i will do my best to keep track and post the gains.

can anyone help me on locating a walkthrough for the install? i know their are a bunch of generic ones, but was looking for one specific to the Patriot.

Well, I decided to take the plung and try them out on my new '08 pat.

I ordered 4 from JC Whitney at $6 a piece, a tad under $33 shipped is about what I pay for a meal for 2 on a friday night.

(Part number: ZX526360R for E3.48) = '08 Patriot
(Part number: ZX526363T for E3.56) = '07 Patriot

I'll be taking a road trip to Disneyland this October. About 1600mi round trip including sight-seeing around SoCal. I'll try to keep track of mpg.

Here's the best walk-through I've seen. It looks as easy as filling up your tank with gas. :)

It's from another forum board.
