That GMC Envoy is very clean looking and very nondescript... it just blends in. Nothing wrong with that. It is much different in look and feel from the Patriot. What is it about the Patriot that is causing you to consider changing?

Knowing your initial motivation will help us sway you one way or the other. ;)

I wanted to get a new car that was good on fuel bcuz my Envoy has about 16-17 gal. & I have to fill it up about twice a week. I also want something new so that I wont have to worry about maintaining any car problems for a while. But my Envoy has a 6-disc, leather interior heatd seats, sunroof, Bose system w/ radio controls on steering wheel... So i want to get something around the same lines of what I had & still ride comfortably. U kno?

gotcha. I have a Limited Patriot 4x4 w/CVT. It has the base radio, but includes the heated leather seats, and radio controls on the wheel. It listed for about $24K... adding in the upgraded radio, additional speakers, and sunroof will add a few thousand more.

If you go into the deal knowing that the Patriot is smaller, smaller engine (but with surprising pickup), and a distinctive Jeep look, I think that you'll be happy with it.

That's the key... setting realistic expectations.

Welcome to the boards. In addition to tcperconti's comparison list my Patriot Limited came with Radio controls on the wheel, with a year of sirius. You can order one with the 6 CD changer if you want. As for ride and comfortability. Mine was very confortable on the 13 hr ride from Illinois to my home.

Don't overlook the fact that your Envoy is a real-wheel drive vehicle, and you'll probably notice very different driving dynamics in a Patriot than you're used to.

Your Envoy will never be worth more as a trade-in than it is right now at 8 years old. Most experts would say to get rid of it before you start getting the "middle-age bills" and before it's too old to be relevant to used-car buyers. Also, the "experts" tell us that fuel is only going to get more expensive. Figure out how much you'll save in dollars with the Patriot's superior fuel mileage - it may be a big chunk of your new car payment. Also, rising fuel prices will further depress the market value of your Envoy.

Thank the Envoy for it's faithful service, kiss it goodbye and hope it goes to a new, loving home.

Yeah, you probably would be very happy with a Patriot Limited. I believe it has all the bells and whistles that you'd be looking for. Do you want a 4wd? If not, go for the 2wd model and gain even more gas mileage.

And when you decide to sell the Limited's stock wheels to put on your 22s, PM me. :D
