1st tank 21mpg and 3rd tank 24mpg......i forgot to check the 2nd fill up....hopefully it will continue to get better...got 1000 miles on the riot.

I was getting around 18 to 20 for my first 3,500 miles. I was so happy to see the last time I drove down from school I got 26... took a while but I think my baby's finally broken in.

I got the exact same model but Steel Blue (no tow package)
I get 22 to 23 in town now
I haven't driven it on the highway lately (past month or so) but last time I did, I got around 26 to 27.
Keep in mind that I am running the 10% ethanol crap.
The best MPG I ever got was 30 MPG doing 50mph for 10 miles on the way to work.
I did get 28 to 29 when I first got it when I drove out of town but that wasn't the 10% ethanol crap, that was REAL GAS

Only a 1000 miles ... you are still in break in mode ... expect more soon :smiley_thumbs_up:  :D We noticed very little change until 2500 miles and the first oil change.

When I drive it, in the city w/ AC on, I get about 22-24, depends on the number of stop lights. On a recent freeway trip, I was getting 31, and it was on a level road going 70, got a little better on the down hills. I have 5000 miles on it and with the change to synthetic motor oil, it is getting about 1-2 more, will keep you posted.

So to the other driver, my wife, she can keep it at a constant 20.2 I think she believes the throttle is an on/off switch.

Also, I would have to agree, break in takes a few ks, and yes learning the CVT does takes time and when you learn to drive it, you can nail down an MPG

Took a recent trip to Colorado and up to Yellowstone and covered just over 3000 miles. Averaged 27.3 MPG for the whole trip with the AC on 90% of the time and usually running 60-70 MPH. The best MPG was 30.5 including driving around in Yellowstone at the posted 45 MPH with a few photo stops. Didn't do any 4x4 driving, but I was surprised at how the CVT pulled the grades in the mountains. This was on straight gas, 85-87 octane.

My Pat 4X4 with FDII last tank all city driving here in hilly Pittsburgh,PA
was 19.2 MPG not too bad for my wifes LEAD FOOT and packing the chut with every stop:p:wow:
I would have the MPG calculations from the trip to Kennerdale PA but the wife did not write down the trip ODO before she cleared it,so another road trip is in order to figure out highway MPG.

My Patriot is almost exactly a year old, and 15,000 km. Just finished a 900 km. trip, and incredibly, the mileage is still improving. A couple of months ago, I was getting 26 - 27 miles per U.S. gallon. This trip, it was 27.8. By the way, mine's an '07 4x4 cvt, not trail rated.

Bought my Patriot Dec. 29, 07. Have nearly 22,000 miles on it.

It is a 5 speed and driving a lot of hiway. Short trips or a lot of stop and go the mileage will be around 20 mpg.

It started out getting about 27 mpg on the hiway. At about 10,000 miles that jumped to 31 mpg. If I drive 65 - 80 with the AC on it will get 27 mpg. If I drive 55 w/ AC or 60 -65 w/out the AC it will get 31 - 32 mpg.

Very happy with any of these.

BTW, a local who bought a Patriot just like mine only in automatic tells me he gets the same mpg.

My 07 Wrangler said I was getting 18 on the dash display, and when I checked on a fill up I was getting 13. I think Jeep had it set higher to fool you into thinking the mpg's were better. Got a Patriot now, Black,26e cvt.2010. I'll do my first fillup soon to check the mpg's.
