1st tank 21mpg and 3rd tank 24mpg......i forgot to check the 2nd fill up....hopefully it will continue to get better...got 1000 miles on the riot.
I've read that the CVT takes some getting used to and once you learn it's tendencies the FE will go up. Anyone want to confirm?sorry...here it is
Just think of it as a manual transmission without a clutch if you want to play with the autostick part.im still afraid to mess with it...not sure how to correctly use it. i dont want to mess up the trans..
Only a 1000 miles ... you are still in break in mode ... expect more soon :smiley_thumbs_up: :banana:1st tank 21mpg and 3rd tank 24mpg......i forgot to check the 2nd fill up....hopefully it will continue to get better...got 1000 miles on the riot.
Took a recent trip to Colorado and up to Yellowstone and covered just over 3000 miles. Averaged 27.3 MPG for the whole trip with the AC on 90% of the time and usually running 60-70 MPH. The best MPG was 30.5 including driving around in Yellowstone at the posted 45 MPH with a few photo stops. Didn't do any 4x4 driving, but I was surprised at how the CVT pulled the grades in the mountains. This was on straight gas, 85-87 octane. When I drive it, in the city w/ AC on, I get about 22-24, depends on the number of stop lights. On a recent freeway trip, I was getting 31, and it was on a level road going 70, got a little better on the down hills. I have 5000 miles on it and with the change to synthetic motor oil, it is getting about 1-2 more, will keep you posted.
So to the other driver, my wife, she can keep it at a constant 20.2 I think she believes the throttle is an on/off switch.
Also, I would have to agree, break in takes a few ks, and yes learning the CVT does takes time and when you learn to drive it, you can nail down an MPG
