Hello folks! Although I am not an owner (yet?) I am very interested in purchasing a new rig. I currently own and operate a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo with stick shift. Well...I'm getting tired of a shifting the stick. I turned 40 last year, and well, it's time for an automatic. I've been searching for several months for a new vehicle and sat in one of these rigs back in Jan during the local auto show. It was pretty nice, and I loved how deep the floors were in the back. Anyway, my requirements for a new rig are: Auto tranny, great mileage, sunroof, decent price, and any and all luxories I can get, like heated seats, deep tint windows (none of which my Rodeo has..). Since I've been searching for several months I keep coming back to the Patriot as a vehicle what will fit the bill quite nicely. Oh, I've no kids, but I have two Beagles, and I need to take them on car rides and trips to the park a few times a week (ARROOOO!).
I think a 4X4 Freedom I with drivers group would be an excellent purchase but..the local dealer hasn't received any in the color we want (metallic green) so for now, I'm Patriot-less. Does anyone here haul their dogs around in their new rig? If so, is it dog friendly? How about mileage? I commute 22 miles each way (75% freeway) and am curious about your MPG's? FDI w/CVT states 26 for HWY and I am curious if anyone has seen that, exceeded that, or has yet to achieve it. I don't go around driving like Mario so I am hoping to see at least 26. We did test drive a silver one, and oh boy it was so nice with the sun roof open. I turned 40 here recently and need to treat myself to something new an am hoping to purchase one in green, and at a great price. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
