Dryland305 do you have a pic? From the looks of ollie18 i thought it was black leather with the chrome top like the factory one with the exception of having JEEP enbroided on it. Can you give me more detail of it???

Got my new Jeep Logo Shift Knob today and had same problem dryland305 had, the old knob would not budge no matter how hard I pulled. So at next oil change I will have Dealer install it.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond...my home computer is down so I haven't been online in several days.

Here's a picture of the new knob; a coworker of mine was able to muscle the old knob off.

I'm very happy with it. I admittedly can get kind of weird about certain things and, in this case the very visible finger prints and small scratches on the stock shifter were beginning to grate on my nerves. The "Jeep" knob smartly solves those issues and helps me save face with my passengers (who have given me 'the look' as I obsessively rub out the finger prints). :)

Edited to add: I should note that the center part of the knob (the "Jeep"/gray area) is covered by glass/plastic-like material, so the overall rounded feel of the shifter is the same as the stock shifter.

Edited again for craig03 -- I don't think there is any leather on the knob. I'd have to look at it again (which I won't be able to do until after work), but the dark part of the knob looks to me like gray metal. It might even be some kind of a faux finish -- maybe it's powder-coated metal or some kind of paper that is made to look like metal. At any rate, the dark part of the center section is covered by plastic/glass which is contoured seamlessly with the entire top of the knob, so that part of the knob feels no different in your hand than the stock one. I'll try to take a picture from another angle so that you might see it better.

Deech, call your Jeep dealer with the part number, they should be able to get it for you within a week.
Yep, even up here in Canada it was under $20 before taxes and available in 2 days. Just take the part number to the service desk or call it in.

I really like this knob but I can't seem to find it online, I did see a couple on ebay going for 50-70 dollars. Way to much! Any links to this? Thanks!
