So after Christmas or first of the year I was planning on getting something purty for my Liberty. I was all set on getting new Cragar soft 8's but I'm now having second thoughts. First being that I actually like the stock wheels. 2nd is I'm not sure about the look of black wheels on my blue Jeep. 3rd would be the added weight, because I need to keep my MPGs if possible.

Anyone have any suggestions? Some ideas I have are as follows

Custom made roof rack that another user on Jeep Forum makes. Similar to RROs design but better.

An arctic decal that blacks out the hood.

Maybe a set of rock sliders? JCROffroad makes a set for 419 with free shipping.

What are your ideas!

Personally I like the roof racks! That would look great my friend!! If you decide on the black wheels. Then I would say go with the decal!

Tough call.

Rock rails are cool. Lots of $ for not much return unless you're doing more hardcore off roading though.

What about a second set of gnarly wheels & tires you can swap on? Probably could score a decent set on CL on the cheap.

Sway bar discos are a great cheap mod that yield big benefits on the trail. Not sure if they make as much of an impact with IFS though.

That's true Fail.. I'm kinda hoping for the biggest return on the $$. Unfortunately the best tires for the trails are too big for the Liberty.

The same guy who makes the rack makes a front recovery system in place of tow hooks. He makes front and rear steel bumpers. That's around 800 before shipping. Too much for me.

I'm still undecided but I'd love to find some moabs.

Decal, wheels and blacked headlights mod would look fantastic on your blue.

My Cherokee (Liberty) is in the dark red so thinking of the following for the new year

Tinted rear windows (for my kids!)
Chrome/steel finish soft 8s
Side steps (again for the kids!)
Black headlight mod

Quite tempted by the hood decal, think it looks fab on the silver/white KKs but not sure if it'd suit red.

Do you have a KJ or KK? I'd like to see a pic of your Liberty.

I ended up going with the oscar mike decal on the hood of my Liberty and on each fender. Looks great in my opinion.

Also, I was going to get the wheels but the Liberty decided it needed to go to the Dr. and get a new ignition coil. I could've easily changed it out myself, but with the holidays I didn't have the time to get it and trouble shoot the issue myself.

So hopefully when tax season comes around I can get some new shoes for the Liberty.

Trade in your Dodge Nitro er Jeep Liberty for a Brand Spanking New JKU..........
Funny story.... I was driving home from work with my wife on Friday. I was at a stop light and the "Brake" light came on. It dinged for a second and then went off. I knew this meant that the fluid was low or that my pads were about worn out. My wife had no idea what it was and said..... "Uh Oh not another issue with your Liberty" "Guess you might be getting that Wrangler sooner than later!"

Halelujah!! My wife is amazing haha.. Still though a JKU isn't financially reasonable so I bought a bottle of brake fluid and called it a day.

That is a funny story. My wife doesn't mind me getting a JKU but only after she gets a new car as it's her turn. I found this nicely equipped JKU Oscar Mike edition in Idaho but the dealer doesn't seem to be interested to talk. After I estimated my payments I almost had a heart attack. My Patriot is almost paid off so I think the wifey will get a new car first as it's only fair and then we'll see where we stand.

I could handle the $350+ car payment but I just can't justify spending that much on a vehicle payment. Normally spending that much on a payment means that you could quickly fall into negative equity.

The Wrangler on the other hand has excellent resale value so I don't think that would be an issue. Although when I get a JK or JKU I don't plan on ever getting rid of it.
