Newbie checking-in :)

Hi everyone! I just found out about JeepPatriot.com and never been part of a forum before. I own a 2008 Patriot 2.4L 4cyl 5 Speed and I love my lil tank but I am having water leaking issues that dealership cannot seem to figure out and a bodyshop that is telling me it is coming through the roof rack, but in reality when I did water tests it was coming in through the back area through my headliner and dome light. I have heard of many Patriot owners having water leaking issues but they have a sunroof, well I don't have one. The body shop gave me material to create a "gasket" then to remove the rack place the material down and reassemble. Doesn't seem right to me? Any help or suggestions would be extremely helpful!

What's a "gasket"? Sounds like they're having you on Leanne! Don't let them lead you astray with made up technical sounding terms like "gasket"!

I know there is a TSB for the water leak issue but it isn't helping. haha ya the body shop I was at they didn't impress me I know what a gasket is and it just doesn't seem right where they told me to put it .. under the rail ... well that isn't where the water is coming in and I am nervous about even attempting it. I dunno but my headliner is becoming destroyed, Chrysler will not do anything and I dont wanna be frustrated anymore lol

Thank for redirecting me to that thread. I read some stuff that I already tried or knew but I haven't yet heard of some possible reasons so I will check it out on my Jeep. I will keep ya posted. Thank you again
