Hi All, I just got back from London at the weekend and noticed the clutch slipping on my 1 year old Patriot when I accelerate mainly in 5th gear! I took it back to the dealer, by this time the clutch was smoking. I have just had my Christmas Present from Jeep, £1700.00 (that's Pounds not Dollars!) for a New Clutch Oh! and I'm not covered by warranty as I have done 26,000 miles and the vehicle "Is Not Covered Due To Its Age!" I have never been Off Roading in it and have never had clutch problems in cars / 4x4's previously, I used to drive 50,000 miles per year, and have clocked up many miles without a replacement clutch ever! Looking on here it appears this is a common fault with the Patriot. Don't get me wrong I drove this out of the garage brand new and have loved every mile i have driven it, but come on Jeep, 26K and clutch failing? Many failing at 6K! Surly there is a problem here! Would be interested to hear if anyone else is having similar problems in the UK.

I also have a 2010 Patriot and the clutch is working fine but when I let out the pedal in neutral I am getting a noise that sounds like a dry bearing from under the floor. Has anyone else experienced this? I am scared to take it in in case I'm also in for a £1700 bill!! Any ideas or advise would be appreciated. BT.

the 2010 can't be 2.0 crd.
they started using mercedes 2.2 since 2009.
these models are known for clutch trouble,as my dealer told me.
