So Im sure everyone knows there's barely any aftermarket stuff for these still so I had to end up making my grill. After looking at home depot, all over ebay, car shops online, and google, I finally found a sheet of black mesh that i thought would work. Bought this at Orchard supply and it was designed to install on top of screen doors for pets, came in chrome too but for obvious reasons I went with black:) I removed the front grill and bumper and cut each of the 7 pieces out to go inside the slots. I tried laying it flat as 1 piece but it didnt sit right. The main problem was finding a way to mount it but thanks to other members suggestions on here, I ended up using epoxy putty on the corners and marine goop (up to 24 hours to fully set)to secure the wire mesh to the backside of the grill and bumper. Here are some pics of the finished product. The grills are on the 7 slot upper, mid lower and lower valance openings. Sorry for no pics along the way, my camera was missing

I put the epoxy putting in the 4 corners of each of the pieces to help secure it while the goop was drying and give it a little more hold. I didnt want to have to pull this all off again if one piece fell off cause it wasnt on there good enough

Monterey CA? Let us know how your temperature gauge is in the heat of the summer.

I like the look, and will probably do the lower open slots, but the upper verticals are meant for airflow through the radiator. You've restricted the airflow. It's probably OK, but be aware of this. (I used to design engine cooling fans...)

Monterey gets around 85 degrees in the summer. its on the coast in Central CA and foggy almost everyday. plus I took out the plastic insert part at the top of the stock inserts that was restricting flow to the radiator more than this grill is. The grill inserts that come behind the stock grill are actually more restrictive than this mesh. Youll see if you take off the grill and front end to do yours.

rezzing this thread, anyone else do this mod or find a company that makes them yet?
