Just got my Pat this weekend, a 2008. I've been lurking on the forum for a few weeks as I was thinking about making a purchase and now that I made it official, here I am!

Hi and GL. I think your year Pat had the Limited lifetime warranty on the powertrain. It doesn't roll over cancels when re sold. But what you can do is check with prior owners or Jeep dealer and see the powertrain maintanence record. Not sure where you got it or if there is any record. But see if any work has been done to your Pat and get CVT fluid changed when you get enough dough saved. If it hasn't been done, no record of it being serviced. Serious stuff take care of your baby Jeep!

Congrats welcome and jeep on

Thanks all!

There was no service history in the vehicle when I bought it. It looks very well taken care of so I would hope that the trans service was done, but there is probably no way to be sure, unless dealers can pull up service history on it but I don't think that is 100% so I think I better just save up and plan on doing that.

I'm about 30 minutes north of Lewes, almost right in the middle of the state.

Welcome!

How many miles on the 08? Normal CVT service is at 120K miles, so it might not have been done. Also there is a 5 year check on the powertrain that needs to be done to continue the life time powertrain warranty. Would be nice to know if that was done.

Tell us more about your Patriot, FWD, FDI, FDII, etc. And post some photos when you can.

My Pat has just shy of 82,000 miles on it. I thought I read somewhere that trans service was 60k miles but if it's not until 120k then that is good.

It is 4WD. I know it is not FDII since it does not have the low range but I'm not sure if that means it is FDI or if there is a "base" 4WD below FDI.

I'll get some more pictures up soon - I'm in the process of transferring stuff over from my Cherokee (CB, roof basket).

Gotcha. I live in VA so I've only driven through Delaware to visit Family. Been through the state several times, but just along 13 I think it is.
13 and 113 are the two main routes through the state, but if you came straight up you would be on 13 the whole way. We have friends in VA Beach so we end up down there once or twice a year, and we usually go camping down in VA at least once a year as well.
