While trying to get to the bottom of our electrical issue, it was suggested that the fan motors could be drawing too much power causing the voltage to drop (cheers JoeP!) and this looks to be the most likely cause.

Regarding the cooling fans, should both operate at the same time on the Patriot? Or just one at a time? I know that it can vary from vehicle to vehicle so hoping for clarification.

Also, if the radiator fan assembly does require replacement, are they the same across the Patriot range or would I need one dedicated to the 2.0 CRD?

Thanks in advance :)

1. they don't work at the same time in normal conditions.the second kicks in when it gets really hot.
they work at the same time if you have ac turned on,in this case they work continuously.
this brings me to an idea.
try running the engine with ac on and see if there is any difference.
2.code no of part is different so i guess its different than petrol.

i can send you the parts catalogue if you need it.

Thanks, will go outside and check in a minute! I am pretty sure that only one fan was turning with the AC on so could have found the problem.

Parts catalogue would be very useful, thank you again :notworthy:
