Hi Guy's,

There have been a few Perth drivers post with new Patriots.
Just wondering anyone up for a drive in the bush or the beach?

I'd like to see how tha Patriot likes the sand.

Any weekend is good for me as long as I can get the Patriot out and dirty.

Hi Grant,

No I haven't done the Lancelin run yet. To be honest don't have anybody to do it with.
I don't want to do it on my own and I'm not to sure of the area there.

When are you up for a trip?

You let me know which weekend you want to go and we can give it a shot.

Hey Guys,

Gonna take the Patriot out this weekend on beach sand, somewhere North of Yanchep, maybe Pipindinning - haven't decided yet. I have the petrol cvt limited, so we'll put the tyres down and see how she goes. I will go with another 4WD just in case...

The weather this weekend should be nice - i'll get some pics sorted. Maybe even a video. Gonna do some fishing - if anyone is interested let me know.

Hi Peter,

Now that i'm starting to work out these links i should be able to keep up with these messages.

Mate the next weekend free to go to Lancelin would'nt be until 12-13 July. But if you know of somewhere closer the next two Saturdays would be ok. As i've got things to go to late afternoon just in case we were to get stuck!!!
Do you have a snach strap etc

JNFPF1,

Sorry couldn't come on this one. I've flown to Melb for the weekend to watch the Carlton V's Collingwood game. Should be a good one.
I hope all went well on your trip.

Johnno,

The 13th July would be great to hit Lancelin. I have no idea where the tracks are there but we can work it out on route. I think Exploreoz have all the directions on the net. The 13th would be good for me as the Patriot is going into ARB Mandurah some time between the 24th and 27th June to get the Rocky Road Lift installed, TX3220 CB put in and a Hella Plug socket for my 40L Engel at the back. Then a day later I'm getting some Cooper ATR's put on. Not sure what size yet. That way it will give me some time till the 13th July to sort out any probs that may arise and give the lift to settle down a bit.

Recovery Gear:

Yep no probs. Fully loaded here mate. Snatch straps, compressor, shovels, etc........

If you need I've got a spare hand held radio for the day if you haven't got one.

Pete,
Book in the 13th July looking forward to it. I'll check out that site you mentioned and it's great to hear that you also have all the gear.. WOW how much is it costing for the lift? I've been thinking of that myself of lately, but my missus has put a stop on me cash flow. I will put in for next years budget..

JNFPF 1,

You can come too if you have nothing on for that weekend, the more the merrier.
Let us know if you can make it so we work out an itinerary.

Hey what's your name by the way.

Hi Aus Patriot and Johnno,

My name is John (too); JNP being my initials and F1 being a Formula 1 supporter.

I did go north of Perth on Saturday but the time got the better of us. I wanted to go into Pipindinning first, but there was a sign 100m in stating that 4WD on the beach and dunes are prohibited with a $1000 fine if caught. So we moved onto Two Rocks we we found the same signs again there. We asked some locals about 4WD tracks (4 separate one's, actually) and got 4 different replies. It wasn't worth the risk and time was running out so we settled for a few beers sitting on the beach at Two Rocks. Shame really. My 10 yr old son was dissapointed but I promised to make it up to him. Looks like we will have to go further North (Seabird or Ledge Point) or maybe go the whole hog and head for Lancelin. So no photos, no videos, no fishing.

The good news was that we saw another 2 Patriots on Wanneroo Road and the fuel consumption settled at about 8.2L/100Km at 90 - 110 Km/h.

Anyway thanks for the invite I will check my calender.

Also, Aus Patriot, what is the Rocky Road lift? 2" lift? And how much?

Hi Guy's,

Hows it going???

Rocky Road Lift.

http://www.rocky-road.com/patriotsus.html
Cost is US$329.00
Postage to door Perth was US$125.00

Transit time was as follows.
Order made on a Wednesday and they said it would be 3 working days before it is shipped out.
After that it took about 7 days to hit my door step.
The guy's at RRO went out of there way to answear all my question and were great.
Apparently they have shipped many of these to Aust already.
I'm hoping to have it done next week on Wed and then on Thur new rubber.

Just been reading up on the rocky road lift kits..they sound excellent especially if you are thinking of upgrading to mud tyres in the future.
Not sure of price, but under $340 US has been quoted somewhere on this site, and with the exchange rate being in our favour, the kit should be under$500 AU shipped.
Anyone fancy a group buy to try and get a better price?
I'll check with ARB Mandurah tomorrow for fitting costs or if they can supply+fit

Hi there,

You mean you can get the entire kit for US$340 including shipping to Perth or US$340 + shipping?

If its US$340 + shipping then the kit is not from there store as they are selling it for US$329.00 and I have been watching it for a few months now.

The kit in AUD cost me under $500 door delivery.
