while we're at it, the plastic trim on the rocker panel under the doors needs to go.

I'm pretty sure it could be replaced with a 2X4 rectangular steel bar with caps welded to the ends. It would stick out a little further than the body line, and act like rock rails without the loss in ground clearance.

Post 15 in this very thread! With Rock Rails

I agree, the trim needs to go. I also like that Grill Guard, suzq044. I kind of like the squared off headlights, but see the point about round = Jeep too. Good work all!

Any way someone could combine the grille guard mod with the post 15 rendering, and maybe add wrangler fog lights into the post 15 bumper, feel free to lose the shackles (receiver shackle will work fine).

i also did the 'square' lights - commander style.. dunno if i like it or not..

hmm, not a fan of those headlights on the Patriot. There's a thread around here somewhere with photoshopped pics of the Liberty, Patriot, and Commander all with the different headlights, I really wish I could find it again. Anyway, I really like the gold one with the step rail and round fog lights on top (the one in post15), it looks a lot beefier. It'd probably look really good in Jeep green for the entire body instead of the black bottom half. But they're all pretty sweet regardless!

The dark lower portion is meant to represent a tuff-coat product (bedliner), which you can get color-matched.

Dawson,

Dude, you would be a hero if you got somebody to make this setup. The ideas on this thread are awesome. Suddenly the Patriot become a really mean looking off-road machine. Great job everyone. I'd love to see this produced!

I posted a thread about getting someone to design these parts in wireframe and I will explore finding a manufacturer for them... Only got a couple replies. We'll see where it goes from here. We are going to coat our Pat with the bed-liner this spring, but it doesn't stick to plastic, so we need the steel bumpers, and I need my rails built too.

I went back a bit and tweaked an earlier version. I like it better this way... I think it is a bit cleaner and probably more do able for my budget... I also cleaned up the roof a bit.
