Just to confirm if I was to switch over to the 65 series option, the dealer can change the speedo correct?

What do you give up and or gain by going from the 60 to 65 series on an AWD Patriot? Besides choices...

thanks

215/60-17 is 27.2" tall a 65 is 28" tall, so you gain about a half inch increase in ride height, and tire side wall.

if you are going to make the change, Might I suggest going to a 225/65-17? its 28.5" tall (the dealer can change your size to the largest stock size and you'll barely be off on your speedo) you can get a yokohama geolander AT tire in that size, which is a better type of tire.

I just replaced my worn out Affinitys with a set of 215/65/17 Continental ProContact and gained 3/4" in height to the hub center, giving an overal tire height increase of about 1.5" vs the originals worn to the bars.

The added height really helps to smooth out the smaller bumps and expansion joints you encounter on the roads. Plus, they look a lot better than the 60 series. They fill out the wheel wells a lot better without looking crammed in there. For my 95% highway use, I couldn't be happier. We'll see if the Eco rated tires work as well as the reviews claim in snow this winter. Should be better than the Affinity's at any rate.
