Should the next lift be more intricate (involving replacement parts) and expensive?

  • Yes, we'll pay more ($500 - $1000) 3" lift that increases travel/articulation by adding more parts.

  • No, we'd like a direct competitor to RRO.

More to come from RRO

I talked to RRO today about whether or not they were looking into offering a higher end lift complete with shocks, etc. in the future.

They said it is something they are looking at, but that it wouldn't be available until after this summer. Perhaps they are waiting to see if there are any changes with the '09 models.

Good to know. i dont think i can wait that long tho. All of these posts about lifting the patriot is making me want to just order one now.

The whole deal with the angles on the CV axles is right. When you see a lifted late model chevy the whole axle is dropped to give the lift and proper angles to the cv shafts and this is not possible with a transverse mounted engine and transmission. The only two ways of achiveing this would be to drop the engine and transmission or design some kind of gear box at the wheel similar to the H1.

I'm down for the highest responsible lift possible, if that's 3", it's better than 2". Besides, I'm not looking to build a rock-crawling monster, the Patriot isn't intended for that. There are three schools of thought here; 1) people who don't care for a lift at all; 2) those who would like a little more clearance on a budget (spacer lift); and 3) those who could benefit from some additional clearance using replacement parts to ensure nothing is stressed-out prematurely.

To each his own.

Three schools of thought..........two options: factory specs or 2" lift. We need a third!!!!

unclejjg no I wish I did... but if you visit the main liberty forums you can view their talk about it... yet no photos because as you know the joints have boots so you can't actually see the joints..

Other options are Jeepin' by Al has some modified joints for the liberty that allows higher lift too...

Blitzbuggy, its impossible to do a body lift on a unibody platform like the Patriot since the body is the main component of the frame.
