So there I was, taking a look at what's in the news yesterday. And what's this? "Snowstorm sweeping across Finland"? "Dangerously poor driving conditions expected"?

...A normal, well adjusted persons first reaction probably would not have been "Oh goody! Neat! Can't wait to get to go drive in that!".

Hey! I resemble that remark!!

do your road trips involve

convincing the wife to go to the middle of nowhere simply because you think there might be snow or trails to explore?
i know you want to go to NYC for shopping, but i hear boonsville, NY is lovely this time of year,

I guess I've been wierd ever since I went playing on muddy roads out in the pasture in our 6 cylinder "three on the tree" pickup forty-seven years ago. :D

Last Sunday I went to a river trip with some friends and family.
And somewhere in the road there was this (rockie) downhill trail and then the caravan stop and somebody said...
"Well people, we have to leave the cars here and walk" (to get to the river).

Guess what family didn't have to walk "at all"?

I love driving my Patriot in the snow and all but when it gets too deep it builds up in the rims and "unbalances" them and the thing starts vibrating wicked bad. Maybe sport drivers don't need to worry about that, but the 17s on my Limited build up with snow fast. Need more rubber I guess. the BFGs on my GC were much better in the snow than the stock all seasons. Can't wait for 30-35k mi. so I can rip them off and replace them with something more respectable. Other than that, the snow is good

RSTROUT539,

That's a very interesting observation about the rims. Our winter has been unusually dry and I haven't had a chance to try snow driving in more than a couple of inches. I had the BFG's on my Subaru Outback and they were very good tires. My wife's car has Michelins and they are also good. We'll just have to see how it goes.

don't worry,it makes at least two of us

a little late, but...

i recently went out to the local mountains (Lytle Creek,CA). We went from no snow to about eight inches. The trails had not been cleared and we were breaking trail. The Patriot continued until we had become a sled, sliding along on the skid plates. The only thing that stopped us was the giant front bumper turning into a snow shovel. Now I'm going to larger tires & the lift. Maybe next year we'll try that trail again.

what is this 'snow' everyone keeps talking about??

That seems perfectly normal.
Living where it snows without a Jeep.......Now that would be abnormal.
