I saw someone has a rear wing available for the Patriot. Who is going to be the first on the block to order it?

Is this something different from the rear spoiler some guys already have?
(pics? website?)
If it's just a rear spoiler, there a a handful of people on here that have installed them. (they look kinda cool too)

Since you called it a 'wing' I'm guessing you're referring to actual 'spoilers' which are the ones you'd typically find on sports and race cars or custom cars. It's supposed to be used to direct airflow upwards to keep the car from lifting without creating too much drag.

The one's found on the Jeeps in this forum are simply just air deflectors used to keep the back window clean from dirt and debris by directing airflow downwards.

Oh how I hate to disparage someones custom ride, but that wing is butt-ugly on that SUV...

(but I used to love the looks of them on the older muscle cars of the late 60s and early 70s. Go figure.)

That wing on the first vehicle is NOT mine lol. I just googled it for reference. The second vehicle on the other hand is most definitely mine!

I thought (ok, HOPED) that was the case.
While I would love to put a deflector on mine, I am also the forums biggest procrastinator, so it'll be a while before I ever get around do actually doing it.
(sad, ain't it?)

I would imagine the rear downforce caused by that would have an adverse affect on MPGs, not to mention it isn't that great looking.

I like the air deflector...its suppose to assist with keeping the rear window dirt free..

They are actually not the air deflector, but a wing. I laughed, but I know someone has to have one by now.

Ok, I admit it..I agree with you. Any car that has that on it, deserved to be laughed at!
Come on Randoo, you have the closest color to the picture. Try it, you might like it.
Wondering...would they look better with multiples bolted on in a row, front to back, or maybe, say, a stack of six? Split the difference , two stacks of three?

You know with a mainly front wheel drive car, that wing is going to give me better traction at higher speeds right where I need it most. And dont forget about when it is slick out, all of the extra down force at 5mph when it is in 4X4 mode, I think I just wet myself (from laughing).
What an ugly useless addition!! If my Pat was modded to where I put in a Hemi and mad it RWD and it could do 150, them maybe I might need the wing, but until then, I guess I will have to do without.
