COIL SUMOSPRING received! Installation tomorrow noon during my lunch break! I'll take few "BEFORE" shots tomorrow morning before going to work and I'll take few "AFTER" shots tomorrow evening!

I look forward to seeing some photos of your project!

Sorry about the delay folks! I was just too angry about it to do my review of the Sumo CoilSpring.

First of all, installation was a piece of cake (at least), took like 10 minutes each side during my lunch break! But there's almost no change on the suspension level before and after the installation, the pictures may give a wrong impression because I have a little bit different angle, but trust me, in person it doesn't do any change on the level. But the major reason why I'm angry is because it actually cause very bad "bouncing" of the rear end of the truck when loaded with my heavy camper. That's very bad trust me! So in conclusion it doesn't improve my suspension level and it add some very annoying/dangerous "bouncing" effect!

But there's a great ending to my store because I bought it from etrailer.com and the return policy is a full refund on non-opened (not used) product which is not my case, but I contact directly the "Superspring" company (California based company) and told my story to the guy in charge (finally appear to be the president Mike Visser) and he set up immediately a full refund to etrailer.com who will give me a full refund upon reception of the product. So I'll just loose the shipping return cost. Honestly Mr. Visser doesn't contradict at all the fact their product doesn't improve my suspension level at all, that seems a little bit suspect to me but SuperSpring look like a strong and trusted company in the other hand!

Here's a few picture of the installation, "before/after" shots and finally a global shot of the truck loaded without Sumo CoilSpring. In fact more I look at this picture, more I think the rear end is not that low and it's probably more a question of visual/look! Maybe I'm just too picky! :(

What I think right now is I had another ball-mount for my trailer hitch which is 2 inch higher, I think if I level my camper a little bit more it will probably help on the tongue weight? Isn't it?

That's for following my story guys! I was a pleasure to share my experience of this product. :D

It's a little hard to tell, but it looks like the sumo sort of helped a bit with the height, but the handling sounds like as problem. With the STU coils, the ride height doesn't really change at all, and the ride gets less bouncy with more weight on the back

Talking of Stu... I leave him several emails and also private message on the forum... no answer (3 weeks later). Is he still on business or what??

I got one delayed answer back about a month ago, but no responses to my further questions since then. I sent him about four or five emails. I have been wondering that myself.

That doesn't look like Stu. He always replied to my emails within 24 hours. Maybe he is vacation or on a business trip. I know he came to the States couple of years ago looking for a possible local distributor.
It can't be that because I send him emails for MORE than 6 weeks, so he can't be on vacation for 6 weeks?!? Well I don't think so...

Does look very professional IMO... I'm not sure I should give him my money... :(

When I had my Trooper, I called a spring works and told them I wanted 2" taller rear springs for a '92 Trooper, and they offered to make them a progressive rate coil, which helps when loaded down. If STU is gone, call around to different spring works and find one that has data on the OEM springs for the Patriot

You are talking about 100% custom built coil spring? Well I can't see anywhere in my area where they build custom springs!?

I'm gonna do some research.

Yes, custom coils. Tell them you want it to be about the same height, about the same ride quality, but handle a trailer load better. I was in Oklahoma and ordered them from a company in California at the time I did it. It shouldn't be a big deal. I'll do some digging and see if I can find the company name again. I posted it somewhere in this forum a long time ago

That website has been up for a long time, maybe they aren't using a website any more. If you click the facebook link I provided, there is a phone number and address for them. I am not sure if it is still active or not. There is another company I listed in that post that does still have a website

I just saw some Jeep Patriot coil springs on E-Bay they were being sold from a company in Aus. The springs were yellow and the company sells discontinued items. Maybe Stu discontinued coils for Jeep Patriots. Go to E-Bay and type in 2007 Jeep Patriot Coil Springs in the search box, they are there.
