so anyone out there see crutchfield has the avic d3x for 799? the d3x includes the bluetooth and the ipod cord. i have some questions for someone that knows more than me. these stem from going to crutchfields site and attempting to figure out if i can get everything for the install from them(minus the nav bezel)

the question is what is the difference between the PAC C2R-CHYNA and the CHYAH05. the PAC C2R-CHYNA is the adapter cructhfield says you need if you configure an avic n4 in the pat. the n4 is single din. i assume its very similar to the d3.

i can get cructhfield to throw in most of the parts for $800 plus 50% off of the PAC C2R-CHYNA(40) + nav bezel(40) comes to something like 880+ backup camera(50) = 930.

btw i think im picking up a navy pat tonight. 07 sport auto fd1 26e 17 inch tires fog lights and convenience package. the girlfriend will love spending valentines day @ the dealership!

part list stolen from soycap

Yep, here's the parts list:

The basic components needed to install a double-din nav:
- OEM Compass Nav Bezel (silver bezel) - $40
- METRA 99-6510 kit (black trim and mounting brackets) - $20
- CHYAH05 (CANBUS Adapter) - $100
- Chrysler radio antenna adapter - $10
- 10" of pipe insulation - $0

The system:
- Pioneer AVIC-D3 - $720
- Pioneer Bluetooth module - $140
- Screen Protector - $15

my d3 is installed. i love it. bluetooth, ipod and backup camera. my recommendation............ never buy the jeep gps. get this one. it looks completly stock. you just go to avic411.com and download a jeep background and put it on it. maybe i will post some pics. all for about the same price of the stock nav.

next mission. replace speakers.

ok so let me get this straight, C2R-CHYAH05 if you want to install a nav system (even if you dont have the factory amp) because you need the vss output etc. and the : C2R-CHYNA if you dont have the factory amp and are not installing a nav system, just a normal hu?

btw i checked crutchfield on the CHYAH05, and they say its a discontinued item, but i checked the pac-audio.com site and there is a unit there by a different name but does anyone know if it the same thing as the CHYAH05?

C2R-CHY :

im asking because crutchfield canada does even have these units and im looking around for the right one, i have a REF radio, no ba sound. and im getting a avic-d3 like yourself.

i went through this and never really got a straight answer. i went with what i knew would work which is the CHYAH05. i have 07 with the standard radio. i can tell you this will work and you will love it. i will tell you that as soon as you do it you are going to want some better speakers!

but if you read above crutchfield says the C2R-CHYNA will work. i always trust crutchfield. these guys know there stuff better than anyone. and they will give you amazing support. i ended up buying everything through amazon though cause it was way cheaper. no sales tax(im in va so crutchfield has to charge me sales tax)!

btw suggestions on install.
if you are doing d3x.
bluetooth - run wires through passenger side up to the driver side of the rear view mirror.

ipod cable - glove compartment.

backup camera - set apart a few extra hours if you havent done this before. i got a boyo lic plate one. like 70 on amazon. takes a really long time though.

and check out avic411 for how to do some other things. like bypass.

also fyi this is the image i use for the background. my friends all think its stock cause of the jeep background!
