I live in Wyoming and just bought my first Jeep Patriot a little over a month ago. I am obsessed with it now! I have always had Toyotas in the past, but wanted something different. And after some crazy snow storms in April and May, I was sick of getting stuck. A friend told me about the Patriot and once I saw it, the only thing I had left to decide was the color! I ended up with a black Latitude with tan seats and black wheel rims. I love all the features it has and have a lot of fun driving it. Unfortunately, I got rear ended in it (still had the new tags on it!). But it's fixed now and looks better than ever (the guy who hit me had good insurance)! Anyway, I talk about my Jeep so much that I figured I should join this forum. I have attached a picture of my Jeeper. It was the day I bought it and it was quite sunny out.

Welcome!

I would love to move to Casper when I retire, but having trouble convincing my wife.

You'll love the Patriot in the snow, on roads you can just let the AWD activate as needed, but for extra confidence you can lock the 4x4.

Thanks Everyone!

I think I forgot to mention it's a 2013. I am so proud of it! Does anyone know the best type of all weather mats for it? Especially in the sloppy winter months? I am willing to spend a fair amount, but not go crazy! I also would like a Jeep license plate holder. I can't decide if I want chrome or black. Decisions, decisions!

Thanks for the advice! Everyone here is so nice and quick to respond! I am staring out my window at work, and I think a storm is coming in. I live in the hail capitol city and am constantly worried about my Patriot. Now I guess I will have to add some sort of cover to my list of things to buy! We had a massive hail storm about 2 summers ago and the entire town had hail damage.

Welcome to the forum. Love the color. I got the Jeep rubber mats last winter, four plus the cargo area. They've done the job, plus the cargo area is now non slip which has been great for keeping stuff in order.

So I didn't realize that my Jeep might be a special edition Altitude? The dealer didn't mention it when I bought it so I don't think they knew! It's definitely a 2013 and now I feel like it's extra special!

I live in Wyoming, but am constantly driving to Colorado. I am thinking of going to 5,000 before my first oil change. The dealer recommended 6,000, but I had always heard 3,000.
Anyway, thank you for all the advice on the mats! I might go ahead and order some this weekend.

I bought my Patriot in late July of 2010. The following April we had hail the size of softballs. I thought I moved my Patriot in time but nope I got a nice dent on the hood. Somewhere buried on this forum is a picture. It was pretty insane.

Congratulations on your purchase!
