2008 Patriot, 4x4 Sport

I noticed water gathering on the floor behind the driver seat about 5 days after I purchased my new Patriot. I have had it back to the dealer twice and on Tuesday it will be for a third time. Anyone else notice water collecting on the floor behind the drivers seat. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to take my Patriot back for a fourth time for the same problem. I don't think Jeep wants that either.

Mike,

Unfortunately, there are a few threads on this forum describing various water infiltration issues that Patriot owners have had to contend with:

One
Two
Three

Best of luck to you!

I had the same thing happened on mine. No sunroof. Water collecting on the floor pan behind driver seat. Also noticed driver side floor was soaked. Took it to dealership, they had a water leak specialist take a look at it. Had a rental for the day while the fixed it. But for a brand new car this is such a hassle. Should have tried to get dealership to compensate me for the inconvenience.

Out of curiosity, when was your Pat built? There should be a sticker somewhere around the driver's door that tells you the build month/year...I think mine was built in July '07, and I had the same problem...mine was due to a problem with the weather strip around the driver's side rear door...others have had problems with a leak around the firewall that leads to the same result (not to mention roof leaks with and without sunroofs). BUT if yours was built in mid-2007 say instead of early 2008, I might think/hope it was a problem early on that has been rectified...but if yours was built recently then I'd say the problem persists.

It's interesting to me because I swear this vehicle has more inspection marks on it than anything I've owned before...I've got what I call wax pencil marks all over every hinge, cap, etc. you can find; you'd think if they're spending that much time inspecting things stuff like this wouldn't happen!!!!
