anyone out there have any ideas on where to place a back up camera. i dont really want anyone to notice it.

also any ideas on how and where to run the wires for the back up camera would be greatly appreciated(like how to take the interior apart and put it back together without destroying the inside). i will be taking some pics of the d3 install and the back up camera when everything gets here. hopefully all the pieces will be here in the next week.

Good question Chokies,

Yesterday I picked up my Pat and went to install a backup camera but decided to wait. It is suppose to attach to the licence plate however I can't find a good hole for the wire to enter the pat on the lift gate. The other thing is it looks like I have to tear apart the inside of the lift gate to run the wires. I have a 2" hitch so I am going to see if I can mount it to that and run the wires with the tow wiring.

If anyone has installed a backup camera in a Pat I would appreciate any help.

Thanks
Mikey

appears he put it in the hitch like you said russell. i dont have the hitch... so more suggestions would be great.

also if you go to jimmys site.

it tells you how to take apart the paneling inside. this should save a lot of time.
anyone know if you truly need a trim stick C-4755. this is what jimmys site says in the pdfs. i just checked online and cannot find it anywhere. i have never seen something i cannot buy online!

Chokies and Mikey, check out Dmentd_Dan's installation of his backup camera in the Gallery.

chokies,
I ran my wires back the passenger side sill plates. Then popped out the taillight and ran the wires through the holes that the taillight wire hareness goes through, then down under the rear bumper. I will try and post some pics for you tomorow if I get off work before dark.

lanzen,
very cool. thats the route i assumed was the easiest. im thinking bout going the same route but up the tailgate and out the light above the license plate.

random question for someone who has obviously taking this car apart. did you need the trim stick C-4755 at all? im assuming you can just pop em out with your hands.

thanks!
