Can anyone please explain these codes?

At the bottom of the list on a price quote are the following codes which look like dealer padding to me. Is that what it really is? are these negotiable items? are these fixed, regulated items which you are stuck paying for?

What do they really mean? {please see attached}

$13 bucks for 5 gallons is $2.60/gallon... that is really close to the going rate around here, so its not really a 'discount'.

I am ok with paying a reasonable destination charge... but what are the other things?

$25 for them to send me advertisments?!?!?

These are marketing costs that your Portland Area/ Greater Northwest Area Jeep Dealers need in order to put commercials on TV, in newspapers, etc.

It is not dealer profit. You do want to see some advertisements for your vehicle.

Remember ads are run by Jeep (Buy A Jeep Patriot), and by your local Jeep dealer (Buy a Jeep Patriot from Beaverton Jeep, because we are the good guys who take better of you!).

And yes the $25 is for the Jeep magazine.

There is no free lunch.....

As long as they are real line items and not dealer padding. I don't want to pay extra stuff like...

The mechanic raised up from under my hood
He shook his head and said, "This ain't good
Your timin' belt's done shrunk one size too small
Those spark plug wires are a little too long
And your main prodsponder's nearly gone
Your injector ports are stripped and that ain't all"
"The torque converter's runnin' low on torque
And that water pump's nearly down a quart
But we caught it all in time so you're in luck"
He said, "I've got the time and I've got the parts
Just give me the word and I'm ready to start
I think we can bring her in for eight hundred bucks"

pdxbubba, does your quote have any of these groups of letter where it says "Total Price" HB,FFP and EP? and do you know what they stand for. I posted a thread today under new sticker prices and have not seen a reply.
There are a couple responsed to your thread.
The only code I know is FFP which is Friends and Family Pricing.
The actual pricing varies depending on which program you can be a member of.

My order sheet show the Total Price, HB, FFP, and EP. So are these the Holdback (dreaded secret dealer profit), Friends and Family Pricing, and Employee Pricing?

Also, my destination fee is only $560-has it been bumped by $100?

PDXBUBBA: stop using the cutrate thesaurus, I can get you a new one from Nashville but it won't be cheap!:D

I don't know what HB,EP stand for.
I don't think the dealer made much if any profit on my purchase. I got the Jeep for 1% Under invoice, plus I used a $250 coupon they had on their website. I didn't finance the jeep, I didn't buy any extra warranty. Their profit on me was probably very slim.

Those look like DCX charges, they have a bunch of little local ones usually by state that differ from the regular charges. I dont work sales but see very similar codes when they put out the pricing letters, with breakdowns for different state charges.
