Has anyone tried the coil spring spacers for the Patriot from JC Whitney?

It says they give up to a 2" lift. After reading reviews it mentions having to use spacers at the top and bottom of the coils to get a 2" lift since the spacers themselves are only 1". I've been thinking about getting the RR lift kit but these, if they work, seem like an easier/cheaper solution. BTW this is my first post and I've learned A LOT reading all the posts. I just got my 08 Patriot, manual trans., 2 weeks ago and want to put Moab rims on it with larger tires like HVAC has done.

these have been discussed already and if they were that great I am sure many lift kit companies would use them rather than plastic, aluminum or rubber spacers. Its my understanding they are mainly used to stretch out old compressed springs not stretch out or lift new ones.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize these were discussed already. From the JC Whitney site and reviews it sounded like they were for lifting the vehicle. I'm new to this so I'm playing catch up. Sounds like the RR kit is the way to go. I was hoping for a cheaper/easier way to fit larger rims and tires.

they do make plastic or rubber spacers that go above and below the springs too. However noone on here seems to have tried them yet.

The real reason is these type of spacer lifts do limit the extension of the shock a little which is why they are frowned upon. The RR kit goes between the shock and the mount which doesn't limit the suspension up or down, which is why people tend to like it better.
