The Patriot has "landed" here in Germany, finaly.
So today i had a first view at the Pat in our local dealer showroom wich mean i also couldn´t testdrive it yet.
Anyway i was able to have close look at a green 2008 Sport version because there was no limited at the dealer.
The differences/similaries? i noticed between the US and german version:
- Yeah the ugly big front bumper. Well it didn´t look that ugly as on the images i found in the internet. It was so lala. I still prefer the US bumper.
- The Standart Radio supports RDS
- Dome lamp for second row with no switch
- Roof Antenna but it was unscrewed so i couldn´t see the length of it
- 2.0 CRD version with 6 gears
- heated rearview mirrors
Outside:
It´s somewhat similar in size to my current Minvan maybe 1 or 2 cm higher but i noticed that the lift gate didn´t swing up that high. Better for my wife not so good for my head
It comes with 17" alu wheels and 4 disc brakes and it´s a 4x4 version no 4x2 version here in Germany. I realy like the boxy design of the Jeep there are enough rounded cars on our streets.
So outside view is ok for me even with the ugly front bumper.
Inside:
Seats feel very soft and comfortable. It´s realy different to the strong more hard seats we regulary prefer here in Germany. It comes with the YES interior as standart (limited has leather). I noticed that the front seats could be slided way back more than i needed and i´m about 1,90m tall.
Havn´t checked if the driver seat could be lifted? Can it?
The interior, the hardplastic, not that bad as mentioned in some reviews but i have to say it´s not on par with german cars. Anyway it´s ok for me. I like cars wich can be cleaned easely and a car is more a utility for me rather than my living room.
What i didn´t like are the airconditioner outlets (spelling?)
They didn´t open/close easely and the plastic bend somewhat if i tried it.
I was also very hard to move the metal rings (spelling?) in the cargo room.
Sitting on the back seat was ok for me even on the middle seat with the cup holders between my feets. But there won´t be many times where i need this seat.
Lot´s of pros and a few cons. Need to see the Pat on our streets and more importand i need to drive it to make a conclusion.
Rends
PS: The Pat is realy expensive here. It´s at the same price range like a Toyota RAV4 or VW Tiguan.
