Comparison CVT2 and CVT2L in low and go 2500 RPM and tell me the MPH reading and tire size if not stock tires.
In Low gear L not high gears DCVT2 2500 rpm 55-60 mph stock tires
(I think)
Thanks Heckler any one else?CVT2L in L @2500 rpm - 25 km/hr
CVT2L in D @2500 rpm - 45 km/hr
17" stock wheels
Making sure when I do (If it works) the auto stick conversion that I am really in low. I should have ck mine before I started on it. http://www.jeeppatriot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4194my numbers are super ballpark from the speedometer.
what's the point behind this question?
I think you’re asking if it likes an old style automatic Transmission shift…that’s what it feels like to me.Something that I was wondering. Do you feel a "shift" in low or does it feel like it just keeps "pulling". I haven't driven a CVT with out AutoStick since I test drove a Caliber SXT with the 2000cc engine and the FD II Patriot. Maybe I should take another test drive.
By "engaged" do you mean in LOCK mode? Easy enough, I'll check mine tonight.I am going to see if I can post both results for you tonight, but I think knowing what 2500 RPMs with the FDII engaged and being in "L" may give you the most accurate results, since this is ultimately what your trying to get (autostick with the full capabilities of FDII)
It might also be helpful to see what an 07 FD1 gets when they are in L and the FD1 is engaged, samething with an 08 autostick in gear 1 and FD1 engaged
I was also thinking about this, and I guess there is actually some logic to why the gearing is lower with the FD1 then the FDII when not having either engaged, From what I understand is the FD1 is geared lower in normal conditions since, FD1 system doesn't change any ratios when engaged, so having it lower would explain why the FD1 is still more capable then some other vehicles in the same class.Here's a couple of friends reports back to me, I'm going to recheck mine. It doesn't sound right that my 1st is lower than your Low.
EDIT: Strange but true! Here's my speeds @ 2500rpm
1st = 13mph
2nd = 20
3rd = 28
4th = 35
5th = 47
6th - too icy
Maybe I've got the FD II final drive in mine! :Racing:It leads me to think that with just the L the variator is still varying while on the AutoStick it's locked in to the selected gear range.
yeah I guess LOCK mode is better wordingBy "engaged" do you mean in LOCK mode? Easy enough, I'll check mine tonight.
Is the AutoStick the only one to have the 6 pre-programmed gear ranges? I thought that the others had them but you just couldn't select them? When using the Manual Mode (Vehicles with - AutoStick)I was also thinking about this, and I guess there is actually some logic to why the gearing is lower with the FD1 then the FDII when not having either engaged, From what I understand is the FD1 is geared lower in normal conditions since, FD1 system doesn't change any ratios when engaged, so having it lower would explain why the FD1 is still more capable then some other vehicles in the same class.
As for the FDII it doesn't need the lower gearing in L since it does have the ratio change when the FDII is engaged
Gramps, I honestly don't know. I would guess that they do.. has Goebel1 had any success changing the gears manually yet? if he has I think that would confirm that the shift points are there.Is the AutoStick the only one to have the 6 pre-programmed gear ranges? I thought that the others had them but you just couldn't select them? When using the Manual Mode (Vehicles with - AutoStick)
When the manual mode switch is turned ON, the fixed changing gear line is set. By moving the switch to + side or – side, shift change is like a M/T and selects from a range of 6 pre-programmed gear ranges.
