MEDALIST Sport King All Terrain 2ply (load range B) 1450 lbs. "P" rated...........
Medalist is a division of B.F. Goodrich. The tires were $100 each, mounted and balanced. I used my own new pressure sensors that were $27 at the dealer parts dept.(my discount is below wholesale!)

No rubbing due to the rounded shoulder and I did reposition the fender liners with a heat gun after a trial fit and a folded piece of paper as a feeler gauge.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer. The ride is a whole lot better(not more hard hits/slapping from the lower profile stock tires)

A couple more because I don't know what the post size limit is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, Maryland State Motor Vehicle Law states that the TREAD may not protrude from the ORIGINAL body lines of the vehicle. This does not include the SIDEWALL............. Good thing or I would be subject to a dreaded INSPECTION TICKET. This should answer the question someone posted of how much does the width and offset differ on the Moab wheels.

Looks great if you are goin for the off road look!!!

Why go down to a 16"??? were you looking for more sidewall?

The Moabs that fit are the 16" from the older TJ Rubicons. The extra sidewall does give a bit more "suspension" on road and better ability to 'air down" for offroad.

what's the biggest tire/rim combo that i could fit on a 2007 FWD Patriot North edition? i dont if this makes a diff but its a 2.4 Litre, CVT2., and i dont know if its FD1 or FD2 (how do i find out).

it doenst have the offroad package or anything, just a basic patriot

thanks

the largest tires on 17" wheels are P235/65R17's without any modifications. on 16" wheels, you can see what was done above with the Rubicon wheels.

as for your 'basic' Patriot, you don't have EITHER FDI or FDII......you have a FWD, not a 4X4.

^^ I'm pretty sure Hvac's does not have a lift (he has FDI) the 1" lift only comes with the trail rated FDII.

Thanks for the pics Hvac. Jeep looks great. Do you get the full turning radius with those?

and does anyone know the offset of the moab wheels? I'm looking at a different set of 16x8 and want to compare. But now I'm far more confident in the fitment!

so are the FD1 and the FWD patriot ride height the same?

Everyone,
Sorry for getting back so late. I could not access the site yesterday for whatevever reason. Could have been a local network problem! I will try to answer all the questions on the first try.
A) Not being familiar with "offset" the backspacing is 5" on Rubicon wheels and 4.7(I think, ask Gramps) on Patriot 17's
B) 16" inch will give more sidewall and as the old saying goes,"The first component in the suspension is the TIRE". So, I chose a very pliable one that can be run at lower pressures on the street and off roading to give the "FEEL" that I am used to. Yes, It will affect gas milage, If I can stay above 22 I'll be doing good.
C) Yes, I have full turning radius with these tires. They have a very rounded shoulder and BTW, a tread wear rating of 250. This means that they are very sticky(soft compound). Hey, at $100, I can't argue.
D) No, I do not have a lift. One is on it's way from RR, and will not be here for a few more days.
E)collins1888, You should PM me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand that in the US many people use tires with speedindex "S" or even less; that means 112 mls/hr (180 km/hr) max or less. The Patriot CRD (like mine) has 124 mls/hr topspeed, so these tires are insufficient, dangerous and in our country not allowed.
