Hi Guys,

Name is Brad, live in Sydney. Had my Patriot since late August and it just clicked over 4000kms. Great vehicle. Have not had a chance to test how capable it is offroad yet. Up until today had not seen another Patriot on the road in Sydney. Was in Crows Nest at lunch today and parked near a nice Jeep Green CRD Patriot. Unfortunately did not see the owner to say hello. Finally another Pat in Sydney !

some bling shots, the ruber strips on the sides cost 25 dollars from a panel beater supplies, my non intrusive antenna mounts and a bit of grill bling, mudflaps 8 dollars from super cheap

driving lights!, are they the ones you've put in the bumper (fog light location).
what barnd model did you get and how hard were they to put in?

M

just a set of cheapies, made a plate out of thin steel and bolted it into the existing reccesses(was a bit fiddly) then used a driving light relay kit and spliced into the high beam line, very easy...yup in the fog light location...getting thru the fire wall etc was easy thats one thing about these cars plenty of room to work

Hi,

I'm a potential Patriot CRD buyer. Glad to see there is a forum dedicated for the Pat. I do have a question for the Aussie members, have anyone encounter any problems with their Pat? have read a few threads & there are a lot of complaints about the car, from simple to quite serious.

Thanks

welcome !!

plenty of complaints and not much praise, that's how the interweb works :(

my pat is awesome.

It is by no way the perfect car, but it has
good economy (for a 4x4)
relatively good off road ability
plenty of standard features
looks far more expensive than it is
and looks really cool!

My only concern before buying were the reports of sub standard interior plastics. But they are fine. They are far better than those used in a lots of other cars.

My only real problem is a squeaking clutch pedal, which the dealer is yet to work out?

My CRD limited has 13K on the clock now and I am extremely happy with the vehicle. I have seen none of the issues mentioned elsewhere such as water leakage etc. CRD means you will get the manual, so CVT problems do not apply.

My wife has had her CRD for about two months and 3500km. She works in real estate and wanted a stand out ,economical, cheap, vehicle. She got all three in one!

We are very happy with our Patty, as she calls it, we are in Darwin and have only seen one other up here.

The only thing we are unhappy with is the local dealer service. When we buy another new car, if that dealership is selling the particular vehicle, then we will test drive it from them, then get it from an Adelaide dealer as freight is only $1100. Still waiting on car mats and Owners manual.

We have also had a pipe going to the intercooler split! The vehicle started to loose power and made a noise like the exhaust baffles were gone.

Have a crd limited with sunroof - done 6500k and what a great little softroader - PS they are not a 4x4 no low range

only 2 little things so far a loose piece of trim on top of windscreen and some plastic glue on the sunroof cover a couple of spots of black glue on a light interior looks stupid

the interior is fantatsic so easy to clean
the crd is an amazing beast so much power and torque - towing a flat bed trailor added only .2l per 100k to economy
getting between 6 and 7.5 l per 100k now the engine has settled a little

so only simply things from this patriot owner :smiley_thumbs_up:

Hello!

Hi all,

New to the forum.

Bought a Diesel Limited Patriot in about November (with Premium Sound:) ). First time 4x4, so it has been quite 'interesting'. Clocked up around 12,000 kms so far.

Love the Patriot. It is very economical, much better than my Subaru RS, which was much lighter.

After buying the car there was a 4 week wait as it was still on a boat, so I thought I would find some cool places to go offroad by searching the internet. Couldn't find any really good websites so 3 months later and a fair amount of coin, we have 4x4earth.com.au, which is the home of the National 4WD Track Database.

It is set up for people like us. The tracks are graded by difficulty. I found out the hard way what happens when you go down a track that is more difficult than you thought. :( No vehicle damage done, but we were stick for a while.

If you are interested check it out, either way hope to see you offroad sometime.

Heading out to Bunyip State Forest on Sunday if anyone is interested.

James

Go the Patriot!

Hi! Just wanted to introduce myself.
Just ordered a Patriot 2.4L manual with sunroof and can't wait to get it home. It was reasonably painstaking decision between it and the Wrangler, but the Patriot won out in the end due to family and other (read wife) circumstances. I've never owned an SUV before so it should be fun and interesting. My 5 year old Astra looked after me well but it's time to move on. For the first time ever, I feel that I could possibly really love a car and get right into it! "It's always been a case of just getting from A to B, but I don't want it to be like that anymore. In the 10 minutes that have driven this (a (albeit an auto), I can see more potential than any previous vin, ck I've ever owned. The only thing that slightly Concern, me is the miserly 51.1 L fuel tank, which is smaller than in my wife's Peugeot 308.
Hope to get lots of tips from this forum and hope that one day I may help another who is in the same boat that I've been in.

Cheers,
Derek
