Lifting will affect MPG...every 1" affects cd numbers by about 20 or so in general...more tire is exposed to the air...larger frontal area...ect...but sometimes a taller tire (not too tall) will offset that a bit as long as it is not much heavier.

You should be able to add the same lift to a non trail rated Patriot without any real issues...heck you could even add the trail rated parts to your Patriot and get the height...but the extra bracing they added to the Trail Rated Pats will be missing.

Thanks guys & Happy New Year , I appreciate all the compliments on my Riot!!

Have you measured your actual ground clearance after installing the lift kit?
No I have not, but I am curious now that you asked. One of these days soon I'll swing by my Dealer and measure a stock FDII and then I'll measure mine, to see what the "real world" hight is

It looks sweet. What kind of tires were you thinking about getting?
Honestly I really like the way Goebel1's tires look on his lifted Patriot, there is another thread going on this but he has put the Michelins LTX A/T2 P245/65R17 on and seems like he is happy with them, he says there is a little rubbing but nothing he can't live with. I am planning on the same tires, or possibly something very similar, depends what I can get for a decent price.

It might be a stupid question, but does the lift have any effect on mpg?
No I haven't seen any difference in my MPG
Also, can the lift be put on a non tail rated one?
Yes the original Patriot Lifted by Rocky Road was a 4x2

May be a silly question but...: why did you lift it?

Silly answer why not its a jeep.

Sleeper22 : The kit comes with a camber kits I did not use it as my alignment guys said it did not need it and he did a stock alignment. Not what Rocky Road said to use. All work just fine. Oh ya make sure you do a 4 wheel alignment.

Can you post a picture of the camber kit? Thanks!

Weren't you in the last post looking for people trying to lower their Jeeps and giving those a difficult time for Lifting. What exactly are you trying to do here?
I am the same person...

I am not giving anyone a difficult time for lifting their Jeep, have fun! I have just been explaining why I want to lower my Jeep. I do not believe the 2wd Jeep Patriot is the best for off-roading, at least that is not what we bought it for. The Patriot does have great clearance under the vehicle and that is why lowering 1.5 inches or so would be safe and look clean. I am not wanting to slam the truck, I just want to remove the fender-well gap.

I have been asking about the camber kit because if there is no problem with raising the truck 1.5 inches or so then there should be no problems with lowering the truck 1.5 inches or so. Just a thought!

Although I do not agree (IMO) wilth sleeper about lowering a jeep, I must agree with his position on becoming educated on the camber kit and he does make a valid point. I hate to say it, but I would like to see how your project turns out. There was this other poster that posted a picture of a german (i think) dealership that lowered a pat and I have to say it looked cool. Almost like a mini srt-8. :)

CJs07RIOT, I was wondering if you had any more photos preferably full shots of your Jeep. Mine is silver too, and I ordered my RRO lift and just waiting. But if you could post a few more shots so I could use yours to develop other ideas. It would be grately appreciated. Thanks.
