Made a Special Order last night

Hi everyone,

I made a special order last night, Patriot Limited 4x4, CVT2, Driver convenience group, full size spare tire, Mats.

The MRSP is $27265 (CAD), I will pay it for $25500 + 400 (admin fee) + Tax.

Color:Green + Grey

The dealer said that I will get for 7-8 week, but I think it will take longer.

Just curious, I wanted to order one but I wasn't sure about the deposit. How much did you put down?

I ordered mine on 2/10. I only had to put $200 down.
I was also told 8-10 weeks. Different people on this board have been quoted different delivery times for their order. I don't think Diamler/Chrysler even knows how long it will really take.

Looking at a couple of threads, I am a little confused on how rebates work when you special order. Do you get the rebate in effect at the time of delivery or at the time of order? Given that the rebates for the Compass came out relatively soon after it hit the market, I could easily foresee a $500+ rebate being available by the time some of these orders come in. Just curious if the rebate gets passed to the consumer or does the dealer just keep it as pure profit?

Likewise, if a limited time sales promotion comes up (and there seems to be a lot of these lately), if you special order and the Jeep does not arrive until after the promotion has expired, do you still get the promotion?

I have never special ordered a vehicle so just don't know how the process works.

I was told that I would benefit from any incentives from Jeep between my order date and the delivery date, but then I paid full MSRP so that may be just the dealer being *nice* to me. BTW my deposit was $500 (CAD).

I was told the exact same thing, and I got 1% below factory pricing.
I only had to put $200 down. If they offer a $500 rebate and don't give it to me, I'd just cancel the old order and special order a new one, and end up $300 ahead still.

Because the dealer removed more then $1000 from MRSP, I had to put $1000 down, and I didn't mention the rebate, another dealer asked me to pay $300 more.

I was told they want $500 down for deposit. I'm one that doesn't like to part with my money so I told him no and started walking out. He then called me back and said ok. No money down. I told him when he gets more on the lot to email me

I'm probably going to hold out til mid year if not late in the year for the 08's, unless I can find one on the lot that I want in a few months but not counting on it due to inactive production. Most of the orders won't be filled for 2+ months! Rebates for the Patriot will be out first thing tomorrow if any for the month of March. I'm guessing $500.

I think Jeep realizes it's got a very hot Jeep but the production isn't there. If they start offering rebates they will see more orders come in.

Does anyone know why production is almost nill?

on jeep.com they aren't offering any rebate on the patriot for the month of March.

Wow that is a nice way to bring people in. Too bad they are still scarce on dealer lots though... Hopefully March will have truckloads of shipments.
