RossoRacer.. you can thank the people who are creating accounts just to vote for you. It kind of defeats the purpose of a POTM if people who do not contribute to this forum are voting in it. It degrades the value of truly earning the POTM.

Especially if they happen to share the same IP...in which case I think a disqualification would be in order.

yeah, that's true I guess. I didn't even ask anybody to vote. It'd be nice if they started contributing, but it's not like we had alot of voters otherwise........

and we don't all have the same IP. Some of us occasionally play online games that require an IP, and it's different for each computer here.

Ruling on the field...

POTM is all about driving participation and building the jeepaptriot.com community.

Having people who have never or likely will never own a Jeep Patriot join the site that will probably not contribute to the site other than voting one time is not in the spirit of this contest.

The point is that there is a very minor difference between creating empty usernames and voting for yourself and having people sign up just to vote who will never contribute to the jeeppatriot.com community.

After consulting with the other moderators it became clear that this feeling was unanimous.

While under the circumstances we aren't going to consider it cheating (as cheating would result in a ban from the site), in fairness we are going to remove RossoRacer from the February POTM contest.

Moving forward we the rules for POTM will be be updated to reflect this clarification.

Just out of curiousity, are all of my votes "valid"? TJN and I were having a pretty good race and I don't want to win just because I got some fake votes... I want to win because people on here appreciate what I went through to get my pictures...

indeed. I think I'll use at least part of this month's submission next month. Gonna go wheeling back home on Sunday(Lord willing), so we'll see what I can get there.

AIC maybe the Admin can change your votes to be in line with TJN and add a little drama to the last minute votes :-D.

something's wrong here, and I admit I may have unwittingly caused it. Should the polls be reset while March POTM submissions start? I'll make sure my facebook friends know to not vote here(even for me) unless they plan on staying around and helping out, anyway. Something just seems kinda wierd here. Don't get me wrong, AIC, you've got great pics and I understand folks wanting to vote for ya, but that many extra votes? Something about that defies logic(forgive me if I sound too much like a Vulcan........)
