Well, folks. It has been fun. Tonight I traded in my 2011 Patriot Latitude X for a 2013 Grand Cherokee Laredo X. There was nothing wrong with the Patriot, I just wanted something with some more features and a better ride. With the 2014 Grand Cherokees coming out, my preferred dealer had a ton of 2013's sitting on the lot that I figured they wanted to move. Boy, was I right! I got an absolute steal on this one. They also bought out my lease. The sales manager really wanted to get this vehicle moved by the end of the month. I still can't believe the deal I got.

My Patriot treated me very well and it was very difficult for to remove all of my gear and transfer it to the GC. I was firmly attached to it, even after less than two years with it. I know that it will make a great vehicle for someone else though.

The Patriot is a true gateway Jeep. It's what got me to upgrade to the GC.

When I was trying to decide whether or not to upgrade, one of the fringe benefits of the Patriot I realized was the community that we have here on JeepPatriot.com. It's such an awesome resource full of awesome people. I don't think other forums will even come close to what we have here on this site. I plan on stopping by from time to time, so I won't be a stranger. Thanks everyone that helped me along the way!

Congrats. I'd love to have a new GC. Nice rigs for sure, enjoy!
Stew Hansen's here in DM have a ton of GC's on the lot. I'm sure they would be willing to make you a good deal... they really want to make room for the 2014's!

Congrats! I think you did good... the 2014's have an ugly grill
I agree, the front-ends on the 2014's just really don't appeal to me. I don't know why everyone is so crazy about them. I don't like the shapes and lines.

At least its the face .... not so much for me :D

Congratulations on your purchase! Could you have taken the brush guard off before trading? If it was me I would've just to sell it myself.
Funny story about that... when I was negotiating the price of the Patriot trade-in, I asked for an additional $1k and the sales manager really thunk hard and after about five seconds he said "does it come with the push bumper?" So I agreed to let them keep the push bumper. It turns out that push bumper wasn't a bad investment!

To be honest I was going to let them keep it anyway. I didn't want to mess around much. I wasn't sure if they would let me leave it on there. If they didn't want it on there, I would have taken it off and sold it for scrap. It would be hard to find a buyer for the bumper in the first place. I spent about an hour removing all of my radio gear from the Patriot and didn't want to spend more time messing with the bumper.
