Hello all. I am new to the Jeep world and am thinking of converting. I currently have an 07 Caliber SXT orange pearl with heated seats, fog lamps, Pioneer D3700 HU with XM Radio direct connect (not the ugly dash mount one), limo tint (darkest they make).

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this little problem with their Patriot's. In my 05 Dakota and 07 Caliber, whenever I would play a cd in the stock radio, the R side of my car would lose sound in the speakers. It would be playing all fine and dandy and then all of a sudden it would cut out. It only did this in the cd player mode, NEVER during just regular radio. So one day I actually had a team of so called Dodge "radio experts" come out to my local dealership in Detroit and they couldn't diagnose the problem, because I couldn't get the damn radio to re-create what I was trying to say to the "experts". So low and behold after I leave my dealership, the speakers dropped again. So I was like forget it, I'm puttin in my Pioneer and I haven't had a problem since.

So with that long story, has anyone experienced loss of sound in one side or all sides of their Patriot when listening to cd's? When I do get my new Patriot in a few months, I would like to just keep my stock radio in there, because it looks better than some of the aftermarket ones.

Well thanks for anyone's help, I just don't want to have any more audio problems since this would then be my 3rd Dodge/Chrysler lease in 5 years with the same problem with no fore-see-able solution...

Thanks,

Aaron (soon to be Patriot owner)

Sounds to me like I should try to get the BA system or just throw in my Pioneer if the stock radio craps out again.. haha.. . Thanks guys for all your input.

"Have fun out there!"

I have the stock setup with the 6 disc, sounds great to me. The only thing I noticed is that the front speakers seem more powerful than the back ones.

Stock radio with BA speakers. Great system, no faults.
