What do you call YOUR Patriot?

Nice amount of choices, suz...good job:smiley_thumbs_up:

I wasn't sure which to click on though. We recently named it "Sasquatch", but when we refer to it when talking to other people, we call it the jeep.

Go figure.

I vote for "Jeep" but the poll should be split to two seperate polls....one what do you call it....the other how do you classify it-which I would vote CUV

1st place - JEEP

2nd place - SUV

i guess CUV makes more sense but SUV is the more popular name for vehicles such as jeeps :D

To the people that voted "The Jeep", do you exclusively use that term?

"I'll drive, we can take my Jeep to lunch."
"I'll pick you up in my Jeep."
In a parking lot, "I can't find my Jeep".
"I just bought a new Jeep."

Just wondering. I was the sole voter thus far for "car". Although I have a friend that calls it a "truck", as he does every other SUV.

sherman tank...

i call mine the jeep. this is my third jeep, having two cj's before, and i think its phenomenal. i always feel like im driving a small tank. when my granddad tells me the stories of him in wwII i always see similarities to the beloved little sherman tanks we used...

1. small and manueverable/go anywhere - do anything
2. ran on gas when they should have been diesel
3. looks great in green
4. held a special place in the hearts of those who drove them
5. despite small size and light armor they were able to get wins over the big ole behemoths the germies had

just my two cents. been stalking for awhile, great site.

yep we call it "the jeep" because we have 3 [hopefully soon to be two] trucks, and well.. can't call it the truck cause "which one" .. the other two have names. The one we're about to pick up doesn't yet either [66 Chevy paneltruck], and neither does the jeep. < see i did it again. lol :D

JUST CURIOUS......why is it that the Patriot is considered a "truck" seeming by all the Patriot owners, but the Compass (same drivetrain, interior, options other than FDII) is considered a "car"? can you mention one FWD 'truck', other than the ill-fated Dodge Rampage??? 4WD, yes....but FWD? i'm soooo confused:confused:

oh; by the way.. we named our jeep "moo" or "mu" .. cause that's what he sounds like in certain rpm's .. a pissed off cow.. lmao. So he is now called either "the Jeep" or "Moo". And the '66 Chevy we got is now called PJ.

I bought my Patriot because the transmission died on my '02 Liberty (at 53,000 miles) and with the hope for better gas mileage.

I go fishing and hunting and tow a smaller boat but the roads generally aren't too horrible - might be 8" of dust and rocks sometimes and I could get through them in my Liberty generally without 4wd Hi even.

I saw a car mag story with photos about a Chrysler-built front-drive Australian pickup that used a Dodge Dakota body.

The reason it was front-drive was so the entire bed floor could lower to ground level between the rear wheels. Roll on the fridge or whatever, raise the bed floor up to normal height, and drive off. Cool!!

(I wonder what the handling was like. Mid 60's GMs with the cruciform-perimeter frames were pretty rubbery...)
