That'd be cool. I think they should seriously consider diesel motors for every model of Jeep they have. Specially the Wrangler and Patriot...those two would sell like hotcakes imo cause the Patriots are small/compact enough that everyone and their mother would get good use oout of them and the wheeling community would love diesel powered Wranglers for new toys. I've seen lots of Diesel swaps done to Wranglers.

I love the idea of a turbo diesel as well and wish they had imported it into the states, would prefer a gas engine though just because.

Keep in mind that the right sized turbo can be made to spool very quickly on a gas engine and make great low end/mid range power.

3.2 V6 for the Liberkee mated to the 9-speed tranny, but a diesel lurking in the wings is nice to know.

Any one as excited as I am?:D

Yes and no because I know this new vehicle is going to be the demise of future Pat's :(

On one hand, at least we won't be driving a Chinese built Jeep.

Next gen Jeep headlights will be the hardest thing to deal with. We've been

seeing the shape of things to come for years.

I wasn't happy when the old Liberty came out, it just didn't seem like the

direction to go after the Cherokee and the Grand.

The facts that concern me are primarily ....
mpg
quickness
power

When these elements come wrapped up as a jeep, thats a plus.

Roomy interior, maybe a bit of luxury but above all ....
confidence to go off the beaten trail or a well worn one when the weather turns ugly.

Oh almost fogot....price point.

Am i asking too much?

I will remain hopeful .....n keep my jeep "spirit" high

The Italians have batted 1000 for a while. I think they are useing the Jeep logo for their benefit. I give a vote of no confidence on this call.
Like I stated before, if you like the retro Jeep look, grab one before they are all gone.

Same mule we've been seeing for months now. Ugly as fawk...I pray the new Jeep looks NOTHING like that.

...What? They already said it's gonna be called the "Jeep Spirit" ... lame as that is.

Here's an analogy. Say some Italian buys your restaurant and allows you to still make the menu and be the boss. In the real world the Italians control the shop. They said Jeep execs will play a role in design but fiat has the final word. A lot of young customers will like the newJreps. I for one am happy to own a 2012 relic. Like I said folks. Get these Pats while you still can. All I'm sayin.

Even Jeep Garage has nothing on release date, etc., but they have all the skinny on the new touches to the 2014 GC. I'm beginning to believe we won't see anything until the LA Auto Show, so we can forget Detroit.
Looks like Jeep has Detroit and the GC on its mind.
The suspense they have created sure adds an element of pressure on them.
A 2012/13 Pat looks like an interesting option in the event of a dud.
I was told from my 'insider' that the interior is sweet and complete, so those skin parts could be just a hoax.
Slit headlights are interesting, but I'm hoping for no LEDs as IMO they are just a fad like rectangular headlights were for GM.
