It's the bane of my existence.

Does anyone have any tips on good ways to remove it from your interior (aside from getting rid of the dog :p )?

My one dog has short stiff hair. What I've been doing is hitting the seats with the vacuum and then picking up the rest that is kinda stuck in the fabric with a big piece of painters/masking tape that I wrap around my hand.

Any other ideas?

I initially thought you said, "the HAIR of the dog" and I wondered if we were having another drinking/hangover thread....

Having said that, mixing up a strong solution of liquid fabric softener in a spray bottle and using this as a "top dressing" to whatever vinyl cleaner/dressing you use does keep the dog hair from "sticking" to the smooth surfaces. I suspect there are commercial solutions for this, but during my days in the computer industry--when carpeted computer (read: large mainframe...) rooms became vogue, we found that the most reliable and cheapest fix to static was the fabric softener.

However, on the carpets, you're on your own there!

Those sticky peel off layers roller things work pretty well.

As does lots and lots of dog brushing.

You know those rubber brooms...I forget the name of them but they are (were?) sold on TV and at fairs and stuff...the one we have came with a small companion, same thing but sort of fingernail brush sized. They pick up animal hair real well.

So as I was trying to find a picture of a dog strapped to the roof of a car i did a google image search and everything there was about Romney strapping his dog to the roof for a 12hr trip to canada...

If he can do it so can you. lol

I recently went to this discount store. There I found a giant lint roller. It's probably about 6" in diameter and about a foot long. And it's super tacky. Works really well.

Try going at the dog hair at an angle with the crevice attachment. You have to go over it a couple times but it usually works for me. Try the attachment with the bristles attached too...

I tried a small lint roller a while back but was going through the layers so fast that I ended up just wrapping the tape around my hand ghetto style.

Maybe I should try and score a jumbo roller.

I haven't tried the furniture (bristled) attachment yet because I don't have one for my shop vac. Maybe I can pick one up at harbor freight.

Lint rollers work great for removing dog hair

What he said.

I was going to contribute sticky lint rollers, but it looks like that has been covered ;) They also make a felt sort of lint brush that is grippy one direction, and smooth the other (moving it one way collects lint, moving it the other way cleans the brush)... that may or may not work:

Getting hair out of auto carpet and fabric is a pita

Actually, at Walmart and pet stores they sell what looks like brush made completely of soft rubber. Thick bristles are dense. You just brush the upholstery or couch and hair sticks it to really well. Then it just pulls off the brush easily by hand. Rubber feels sticky but its not.
They also make one shaped like a mitten u out ur hand in. Flexible enough to contour the shape of the surface ur wiping.
Works great!

What kind of shop vac do you use? I have a Craftsman with good suction and have no problem getting dog hair out of my interior.
Ok well using a shop vac I have no problems. It is a big one though.
In the house is a different story. Don't want to drag my filthy shop vac in there. So the lint brush is great for daily upkeep. Not for full blown cleaning day.

I figured out how to keep the dog hair out of my Patriot. My dogs don't ride in my Patriot anymore they ride in the back of my Jeep Comanche with a camper shell on it. Now the house is another problem itself, requires vacuming a couple times a week to say the least.
