Yea the Black one sold but I have my eyes on the Silver one ;) I should be getting to go to my base next week if all goes well on Tuesday when I take my test. This hurricane is coming though and we're suppose to catch the edge of it here so I may not get to leave on Wednesday like I would like to :( FML

BTW, I've noticed that Silver and black seem to be the most popular colors for the 2011-12 models ... anyone else notice this? Lol

Silver was my first choice, but my wife was opposed because the xB I sold and was replacing with the Jeep was silver. Mineral gray was my next choice, and I'm still happy :)

I love the mineral gray ones but apparently so do all their owners cause they don't trade them in or sell them haha I should be getting out of here and back home to Texas next Wednesday or Thursday (hopefully). This hurricane is not looking like it's going to benefit me at all since I could possibly not get to test on Tuesday morning  I've never prayed so much in my life lol I just want to get the hell out of here and get back to Texas. Labor day weekend I am going to look at the silver one on the way down to visit my GF and then probably check it out again with her and then buy it the same day or on my way back. It is a steal (even with it's mileage).

We seriously need everyone's prayers to get out of here on time  Sounds corny and lame but all the students here at Keesler AFB could be royally screwed over by this storm and we do not need this set back. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers please.

I should be able to get out of here on Friday so I talked to the dealer and told them I'll be there to look at it on Saturday ;) Let's hope I can leave this time cause that Pat is calling my name :D

FML...I didn't pass the S+ test again. I'm fracken pissed y'all have no idea. Now I have to hope that I can get a 3rd chance at it or get reclassed to a good job. If I get reclassed I will loose my base which I do not want :( Anyways I'm just pissed and life blows right now.

BTW, that Silver Pat I was going to look at sold today :| So I will keep an eye out again for the next few months. Hopefully I will get to leave this damn base sometime this millennium......

You don't want to know what they are. Theyre hard as heck and you're suppose to have 2 years on the job experience before you take them and the courses themselves are suppose to be like a full month at least. We have to take it with 0 on the job training and our course is only 9 week days long. Ridiculous...I hate it. We'll see what will happen. Either they'll give me a third chance to take it and pass or they will make me change jobs which I honestly wouldn't mind all that much...I don't like my current job as is (all I'll be doing is inspections). But like I said, we'll see.

That sucks guy. I really don't know what those tests are but dang
I work at an Army Depot, in the IT department. We use the CompTIA Security + exam as a screening tool. It was developed in 2002 to address the rise of security issues in IT systems.

Dude, your employer uses the S+ exam as a screening tool?! That's ridiculous. Its very hard unless you have a decent amount of experience in networking, general cyber surety stuff, and host-based/network-based hardening. The physical security and access control parts are easy but I've had to learn pretty much everything else in a 9 day course :| Obviously I guess I still don't know enough of the information since I keep failing by one damn question...

Thanks for the links man.

Make them tell you "No". Uncle Sam has been known to pay for classes and exams...

^ They probably want someone with S+ since it's a INFOSEC manager but like he said, if you have experience in the field even with an A+ certification then they'd probably look into your application.

In news relating to this ongoing and seemingly endless thread (being that I am trapped at the black hole of AF tech schools that is Keesler AFB) I have pretty much decided that I am just going to order a brand new Pat whenever I can leave this place. I have come to this decision since I should have about 4k in checking and a little over 2,750 in savings when I leave in a month or more...and that's after I already payed off my student loan last month. The money that is in my savings is for an engagement ring/wedding band for the gf but I am willing to use 2k out of my checking as a down payment on top of my trade in.

So all in all, a 2012 Patriot Sport FDII (in the Mineral gray) would be a $19,820...that's not too bad since I was looking at the prices of a Subaru Impreza, XV Crosstrek, or a Forester (pretty much the only three vehicles I'd buy if I didn't get a Patriot. Anyways so yea that's the game plan now. Study and graduate this damn place finally and then once settled down-ish at my base I'ma do this :D

Sweet.... great choice! Would make for interesting trail runs if we go together
