So the deal with WhitePatriot21's awesome Pat more than likely isn't going to work out. I freakin love his rig and it's seriously the reason that I love Patriots (besides the SEMA rig of course). Anyway well long story short, my base is too far away from him to get a few looks in before buying it. So now I am dealership shopping again but I have some serious questions...
1.) I've heard that FDII platforms have slightly worse fuel economy than FDI...if it's just daily driven in D and 2WD, with this still be a problem? I'd never use the L and/or 4WD unless I'm offroading or in a very snowy/slick situation.
2.) The extent of my offroading will be very light/easy trails with minimal obstacles. Being that I live in Texas, and FDII models are insanely difficult to come by, would I be kicking myself out on the trails for not searching for a FDII? Those of you who actually "trail run" with FDI Pat's please comment on this answer please.
3.) Another question about FDI compared to FDII that I haven't seen an answer to on the Forum...is there an enormous difference in offroad performance as far as suspension goes or is it just the better crawl ratio that is so appealing on the FDII package?
Hopefully I can get some real good answers to help me. I'm going to be shopping for a few weeks. I have two weeks left of my Tech School and once I am back in Texas it's balls to the wall. I am finding 2011 Pats just barely above my price range so maybe I can get lucky and snag a hell of a deal on a newer model (crossing my fingers) but more than likely it's going to be a 07-10 model.
Btw, would anyone be interested in a 02 Nissan Frontier?
Going on the market the first few weeks of August lmao
