So I just recently got into Breaking Bad in the last couple of weeks. I just started season three and I keep noticing the prominence of Jeeps in the series. Hank's Commander, Skylar's Grand Wagoneer, and I remember seeing a Patriot and a Wrangler in the background at least once. I can't recall if I've seen a Grand Cherokee, and I haven't seen a Compass, but I have to wonder if Jeep is doing a little placement advertising. Especially considering that it seems like the Jeeps are the only vehicles that never have any trouble -- you would think that a vehicle as old as the Grand Cherokee would be a little more troublesome and rusty, and the Commander took a lickin' in the shootout scene but it keeps on tickin'.

Any thoughts?

I am fascinated by all of the symbolism in the show, and I found this: http://mitchblum.com/2011/07/14/sto...-what-the-cars-on-breaking-bad-tell-us-about-the-true-nature-of-the-characters/

Well first of all that article has a lot wrong with it but I'm not going into detail.

Breaking Bad is one of the best shows I have ever seen. SPOILER ALERT: Hanks Jeep Commander actually survives two shoot outs. The second one with the two Mexican brothers is one of my favorite scenes of the show. In season 5 which is currently airing two characters get new cars, one being a brand new Chrysler 300 SRT and the other being a brand new Dodge Challenger. Also a lot of the commercials are for Chrysler vehicles so I am sure they sponsor the show.

I can't wait for you to get to the season 4 finale... so awesome!

I enjoy the 300. I love how they look, and I laughed when Walt somehow got the tank out of the unit to the wash with it.
Huh? what tank? I'm confused.

I love my Charger... almost same everything as the 300 except sheet metal. Of course I don't have an RT or SRT which have the HEMI's. I opted for the 31 mpg 292 hp V6.:D

The tank of methlamine.

I'd love the SRT8 charger or 300. I think its more about the interior. I could care less about the engine. As long as I can go atleast 80 and get a decent gas mileage ill take it. I hate the patriots plastic interior. My elbows are dying after an hour drive.

Got it. I'm assuming he used the same truck he used to get it out of the car wash. They do make hitches for these cars though.....

I just watched the second shootout scene. Pretty good indeed. The show is definitely getting better each episode.

I only watch a couple TV shows, but I have heard about this one from lot's of friends. I have to get it from the beginning and catch up.

My fave TV show will be back soon, Dexter.

Holyyyyyy craaaaaap. Not just the finale, but the two or three episodes before that too.

I'm going to have to "locate" the season 5 episodes. Sounds like season 5 is a little crazy too. Though I would rather not wait for the second half of season 5 until next year...

Dodge is known for motors though. The V6 Pentestar is a great motor, and the HEMI - and SRT8 HEMI are awesome. If it's just up to the interior, I can think of other cars that I'd like better.

edit: To stay on thread. I've never seen Breaking Bad - so I can't comment. :(

I think I found a guy at work that can hook me up with this series from the beginning. Hopefully I can get it and start to watch it while hunting this fall. Not actually "while" hunting, but at camp.

I love the interior of the SRT 8, and exterior. Its the perfect style for me. But the price sure isn't!

Saw this tread and thought id give Breaking bad a shot seeing how the first 4 season are available on Netflix. I am hooked. Just finishing up the second season. I have def noticed all the jeeps in the show. If you have Netflix id recommend giving it a look.

Told you. I was a little disappointed with season 5 from the beginning but there are some cool twists and turns (hard to top season 4 :D). The mid-season-finale left me pretty shocked and wondering what's going to happen....

I started watching season 5 today and I read ahead in the episode guide on Wikipedia to see what happens... so yeah, I really wish they wouldn't have split season 5 into two parts.
