Can we fit a 235/60/16 on the stock steelies?

I don't. Just trying to stay close to stock. There is only about 2 mm difference between 205/70 and 235/60.... Middle number is percentage. 205x.7=143.5mm vs 235x.6=141.... 2.5mm difference. ... I figure that's not too bad.... So would you think something like 235/65?
I have 215/70 right now. So going to 235/65 would up me by about 2.5 mm. So jeep_now... You think 235/65 vs the 235/60? Also trying to account for mpg

It will fit but keep in mind the stock steelies are only 6.5 wide which means they may fit but the foot print the tire should lay on the road may be distorted. A 235 should be fitted on a 7.5 or greater width.
Mileage won't be adversely affected by increasing the width but increasing the height will.
2 reasons, 1 that a taller tire takes more power to make a revolution, 2 it may change ur speedometer causing calculation errors.
Yes, wider means heavier anyway but it's negligible. Taller changes revolution computations thus altering economy more adversely.
The stock aluminum are 7.5 and they run a 225 which looks proportionate.
I would go for a wider wheel before I buy 235's on a 6.5

205/70/16 = 27.29
215/70/16 = 27.85
235/60/16 = 27.10
235/65/16 = 28.02
Above are overall diameter figures. The largest OE size that comes on a Patriot is 28" (FDII). I'd stay with your current size 215/70/16 as there is for sure no rubbing and that size fits 6.5 wide rim just fine. If you had 17'' rim, then you could have gone 235/65/16 as 17" rim is wider to accommodate the width of 235.

I'd say so. I had my 225/70/16 Geolanders on stock steelies for a few weeks.
