Some insight.... The factory steelies are offset inward (is that plus or minus), anyway, they set inward 5"
The wheels are only 6.5" wide which means you could technically get a 9" width with a .5" inward offset to fit.
Once putting a tire on it though? Don't know if it would rub or not.
I did see a guy rolling around TxCity with 275/40R20's on his.
Though rubber band type tires aren't my style, the width sure looked good under the fenders. They didn't stick out overly either.
Like "the jeep now", his look good!
8" zero offset. Go for a 9" and .5" and you might not have any rub.
Draw back? Finding a good selection of short tires in a wide with.
IMO anything taller than 28 takes the OEM fuel economy down.
Of course that's to be argued on here too.
