Since the price of gas has been going up and I don't live in the nicest of areas, anybody know a locking gas cap that will work on the pat?
Aussie cars get the locking cap by default. I find stuffing around with the key a bit annoying, and would've preferred a remote locking system on the flap instead. But I suppose the locking cap is more secure.I still bought a locking gas cap to make sure people can't dump crap into my tank. I got the Mopar locking fuel cap, which looks identical to the original one. The only real difference is there is a key hole in the middle and it is keyed to my ignition key. It hangs off the door just like the original one
How much did it cost?I still bought a locking gas cap to make sure people can't dump crap into my tank. I got the Mopar locking fuel cap, which looks identical to the original one. Well, there you go...thanks.Since 2006, not 2010.
Makes me glad I have skid platesA lot of gas thefts I'm hearing about lately involve punching a hole in your gas tank. Maybe because it's too tough to siphon from tanks on newer vehicles? I haven't tried siphoning from the Patriot yet, and it's the only vehicle I have newer than 2006. I don;t actually siphon though, I use a small battery powered pump.

I gave them my VIN and they keyed it to my ignition key.
Yes, and it is freaking EXPENSIVE.Latest thing I've heard people stealing are cats. They crawl under the vehicle with a saws all and have the cat off in a minute or two. I believe they tend to target car lots and such though.
Yeah I had one blow apart on the Charger. I'm pretty sure the car was just trying to be even more anti-Prius.Yes, and it is freaking EXPENSIVE.
