Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has installed a single-din. I know theres required things such as the harness and whatnot, I'm simply worried about the headunit itself. I could not find anyone who had a single-din radio in there patriot for the life of me.

Can anyone post pictures of a single din in their patriot? I really want a Double din, But I can't see shelling out $300 more than it would cost to get a really nice single, and I really don't need DVD or NAV or any of the fancy features. I just really need a better than stock HU, that will accompany the needs of my system, and look nice, well, and something else to fill my empty void that will be left over....

Edit: And reason for upgrading: My stock HU is biting the dust, glitches out, and when I turn the knobs up it goes haywire and may go up or down.

Mine is a single din flip out.. I can take pics of it open/closed.

Check out Crutchfield.com. Someone else mentioned them as well. If you spend over $119 on any deck, they will give you dash kit, wire harness, and antenna adapter for free. Makes the install super easy. I am ordering one of their DVD receivers with bluetooth. It is a pretty good deal at $350.

Here. It's in my thread. It's just a quick video..

I have a single din. I like it, but Im actually thinking of selling it. If you are interested let me know. This one I'll include the single din mounting adapter.

Since I have an 08, We already have a "pocket" in the bezel. With a single din, I'd just gain another pocket, and I'm pretty sure I might go insane. I guess I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy a Double-din.

james you'de be able to correct me, but i do not believe the kit for a single din opening has a pocket on the 07 08 models.

Come to think of it, you are correct. I am now looking at this unit for myself.

I have already downloaded the motion x drive app to use as the nav for this. I did not originally care for DVD or video at all. But I think for long trips this would be great for my kid.

@creation There are some nice looking DD that are more basic and budget friendly if you do not want video. Here

Crutchfield is great for figuring out what fits and such, but their prices get out of hand at times. The harness for my radio was $130 there and I got it for $80. Here's a few sites I like to flip through when looking for new gear.

Onlinecarstereo.com
Woofersetc.com
AudioSavings.com
SonicElectronix.com

And eBay of course..

Sonicelectronix is good for sure. Crutchfield is pricey but the CS they offer is great, thats how they sell products. I could have bought some of my gear for WAYYY cheaper but the help from them is awesome. Next radio is coming from ebay or amazon.
