Doogals: The one without an AUX in the front. Radio is actually OK at a high volume with good speakers. With stock speakers, forget it.
That's the one I'm considering now. How about radio reception? Worse than your factory unit? Also, is the touch screen pretty smooth to operate or laggy/glitchy? If you could share some of your thoughts on this unit it would be greatly appreciated.

I just purchased a 2010 low speed Mygig factory unit. The Fosgate speakers sound night and day vs the Chinese. The Chinese screen typing is more responsive than the mygig unit but that's about all the pro's it's going to get. The Chinese radio is not a bad unit, just not worth 600.00. Realistically it should be in the price range of 250.00 300.00 max. Too many glitches for the money and it should come with a manual, written in English, not broken English. And the tech support is worthless. You can pick up a Mygig unit for an additional 100 to 150 from oemautopartsco.com you'll be happy you did. The one I purchased was off E-bay, it has the U-connect (hands free talking) and is Sirius ready for 590.00.

So you've bought two units total? One aftermarket and one OEM? You must be into this for over $1000 now, right?

Which is why I am telling you to do it right the first time. By the way I am selling my Chinese nav cheap. My only issue with the unit is the volume key sensitivity. I am selling it for 300.00, had it's less than 5 months old. Like I stated earlier that's what these units should be priced. Comes with GPS antenna and it has bluetooth built into the radio with built in mic , that I will miss, and the bluetooth worked great.

Yikes - these issues you mention (volume/glitches/manual/tech support) were bad enough to take a $300 loss on the unit and replace it with a $600 Mygig?

If the unit was that bad I'm defiantly second guessing this purchase now...

All I'm saying is if you are paying 600 + for the Chinese units, which they are asking for, you are better off buying, holding out for a Mygig Nav unit and spending a few dollars more. The only company which I had previously purchased a My gig Nav unit (2009 Dodge Ram) and had 0 problems is the company I mentioned earlier. The Chinese unit without a manual makes it a bit more difficult to explore the functions of the unit. And if there is a problem with the unit it's not like you can send it back to China for repairs. But over-all it's a descent unit for 300. I had zero issues with the nav or bluetooth other than the volume glitch. The volume works, just if you spin the volume button to quick it jumps from 18 to 25. But if you spin the knob slowly it's fine.

renospatriot, any updates? How are you finding this unit now - any better?

MadMax - how about yours as well?
i still love the unit, It has the options i need the most (GPS , i can listen to my music using the bluetooth, hands free phone is OK ) plus it has all the options you might need in the future (r view cam and others) but when it comes to radio its not the best thing out there and i can live with that.
For me the choice was simple since the jeep dealer here charges 2500$ for the original GPS unit.

It all comes down to what you paid for the unit. oemautopartsco.com has the factory unit for our trucks for 875.00. When I bought the same unit for my Dodge ram I paid 1400.00 which included the lockpick and rear camera. Now he is selling them for 875.00 which is a steal. The Chinese units are 600.00 to 700.00 so for an additional 175.00 I would definitely go with the factory unit.

If you go to Ebay and type in mygig gps you'll see a ton, just make sure it's from the above seller. If there is any problems at least you are covered. I still have mine in the Ram and it worked perfect from day 1, I also bought the lockpick which enables you or your passenger to type in the address while in motion otherwise you have to stop to program the address in the gps. If you want Sirius satellite make sure you buy the correct model. The only other thing you will need is a mic that plugs into the back of the radio which he sells for your model GPS about 35.00, that will give you handsfree talking. You will not need the module, that is already built into the nav radio only. I guess your not interested in my Chinese unit?

@Doogals The radio reception is OK at best. It's the ONE con of having the unit. Everything else about it is great. The touch screen is ok, the system is fast enough if you disable the auto-start for the nav and the bluetooth features are excellent. I don't regret the purchase, but I wish the radio reception weren't sacrificed as it was.
