Hey guys, I have 4 6x9's sitting around (my stock ones but I still really like the sound they put out) My doors are new fosgates, But I feel like I need more highs and mids but I cant be bothered buying horns or tweeters right now, so does anyone have ideas of a box or anything else to possibly put these and amp them to get the best sound out of them?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, willing to try anything. Just need more highs and mids!

Without knowing the parameters of the speakers unless you can measure them, qts,fs,vas .. the generic .5 cf sealed box tends to work best for a single 6x9, so i would build a 2cf box internal volume in a wedge shape that fits best in the back. It will destroy any "soundstage" but will sound lound when powered by appropriate size amp

Alright, and they are the stock 6x9's that come in the pat, no BA or anything. And could you find a picture? I've never built a box, so I need instructions. Lol

This is a pretty good video

part 2 is there too

I cut my holes with a jigsaw, slightly smaller and use a dremel tool to sand the hole to the size i need to make a tight fit

A 6x9 template you might be able to download or with trial and error trace your speaker on cardboard and then cut the hole in the cardboard smaller than what you traced till you get a nice fit 4 the speaker

You should really ditch those 6x9's if you want any kind of decent sound imaging. A properly powered set of components up front would net you far better results. Even my wife Alpine Type-R components get pretty loud. I would suggest a silk dome tweeter though as the metal tweeters tend to get harsh. Money well spent. And the sound is crisp.

I have the alpine Sps -619 in the front and rear doors. They are phenomenal for $120 a pair.

Shoot the padlock off your wallet and buy a nice set of components and a 200-300w 2-channel amp to power them! You'll be happy, I promise. Rainbow makes some awesome SQ stuff. MB Quart, Older Pioneer Comps, if you could budget in some RE Audio XXX's, they pound. But you're probably not gonna fit the woofer in the stock location without some work. I'm not sure on this as I've only had my Patriot for 4 days now and haven't done a thing to it. But they are bad ass.

I have replaced my door speakers with fosgate 6x9's, but I was wondering if they had tweeters in dash to replace and amp. I just feel like I don't have enough highs and mids. And @dB-spl, Its not that I dont want to spend it, I dont have the money to spend, or it would be all gone :p I just bought 2 12"s, the box, 1200w amp to push them both, and my doors, and the kits for install and whatnot. But when those hit, I want more of the actual song too.
