like everyone else I don't think I could be more disappointed in the horn on my '11 Patriot. Finally going to get around to replacing it. Hopefully will have something along the lines of this as a backup.

I live in a small town in Iowa so I can use the factory horn as the; "hello, How are You?"

But I think it's time for some get out of the way.

Plus I think they'll look cool mounted behind the grill.

Anyone got any experience doing anything along these lines, or am i better off just replacing the stock horn with this 12v one.

Sick Speed Green Dual Horn

I found a repacement pair (packaged as a set) of horns at my local auto-zone, they are the same physical size as the original, and fits well in the same space. Has a nice higher-pitched tow-tone which I think is acceptable. The horns are each rated at 130 db--not sure how that corresponds with the stock horn--but should be louder as there are two of them.

There's a previous thread on how to locate and get to the horn someplace on this forum.

The OEM horn really sucks!! I hate it! LOL

the bad side: you need to dismount the front fender :S

don't do that. small air compressor and tank in the back, drill a hole through the roof (hey it already leaks) for your air line to two horns on either side of your roof rack. Loud ass manly horns, plus you now have on board air so no worries when you air down for the trails.
