I'm not sure why yours is so inconsistent, and I haven't read anything to indicate it should be doing what it is doing. Mine constantly blows full blast every time I use remote start, even after opening the door, and it will also do it in manual control mode. I have to adjust the knob after putting the key in to make it stop. I'd like to check it in the winter and see if it actually blows hot air

Mine does this too. I think it is supposed to.... When I use the remote start it also activates the rear defroster and heated mirrors.... good for winter. I haven't used it in the summer so I don't know if those turn on when it's hot outside.

It's different from what mrjeepr44 is experiencing in that when I open the driver side door, the HVAC system reverts back to the settings I left them on.

I don't have the auto climate control...

I've noticed that my blower speed is on high when I use factory remote start and then when I open the door it slows down. Never thought it was an issue. I'll have to play a little bit more with it. Not really a complaint for me, as I think it would be really nice for the blowers to be on high and defrosters on when I remote-start in the summer... makes sense to me.

It almost defeats the purpose of remote start in cold climates if you remote-start it and the blowers are only blowing on low (or off) from the last time you used it and the defroster is off. The car won't be warm and the windows will still be icy. So the engine will be warm... big whoop! I'd rather have everything toasty and de-iced by the time I enter the vehicle.

Agreed it's not a huge issue but I'd at least like to see some mention that it's a function of the remote start; whether in the owners manual or elsewhere. I notice the bulletin posted by brysonk doesn't even mention remote start so this problem, if it is a problem, may not apply. Just like a can program my jeep to chime/not chime, blink lights, etc... I want to know how to program the remote start. We pay good money for these functions and jeep should fess up why their vehicles do X, Y, Z no matter how trivial. If the function was consistent, I'd have no beef.

It was my understanding that this was a feature, so you didn't have to preset your climate controls before exiting the vehicle anticipating using the remote start.

For example, you go to work in the morning, its not hot out so you don't have the blower on. Upon getting to work you would need to turn the blower on for remote start when you leave.

This feature makes that a non issue.

on a similar note I had a number of times when I got in after using the remote start where i could hear the fans running full, but the dampers hadn't opened for the upper vents and no air would come out. Just the other day this happened again, without the remote start.

taken it in to my local dealers 3 or 4 times when this has happened, they haven't done anything about it except wash my car, don't get me wrong, it's nice, but doesn't fix the problem

I could agree if I had the auto climate control feature. Just turning the fan on doesn't do me squat if it doesn't also turn the A/C on during summer or heat/defrost in winter...and why does it turn off when I open the drivers door?Chrysler doesn't seem to think its a feature as they did the swap. No help though as it happened again today. Not sure I want to pursue this.
