When sitting at a stop or backing out of my driveway, I can hear a clunk noise in the front end when turning my steering wheel.

My Patriot only has about 2200 miles, and I've had it aligned with camber bolts installed.

Is some noise normal with the resistance of the asphalt or should I have it checked? Doesn't seem to do it when driving on the road at normal speeds.

I havent heard any noises from the front end, yet. 1500 miles. It DOES seem to pull to the left just a bit. I adjusted all the pressures to 35, still pulls a tad.

I'll have the stealership check it when I change the oil. Since it's new I'll do the first one at 3000 miles anyway to get the break in oil out.

I am trying to stay positive but I am getting the feeling I have a lemon. I have already had a front axle replaced.

Mine pulled left since new, and the service guy said it was out of toe. After they fixed it, it pulled to the right. They confirmed it was aligned perfectly and rotated the tires, then it pulled left again, then they crisscrossed the tires and it was fine.... screwy stuff... but no clunking here

Orion6, could it be bearings in the steering wheel column? While a completely different animal than a Jeep, my Impala had the symptoms you are describing and it was an issue with the bearings. They needed to be continually greased. Chevy eventually issued a recall for it.

Took her in today, just a heat shield that the rubber boot on the suspension was catching on. No more knock. Glad it was something simple! :D
can you please give some more details?

Apparently one of the inner heat shields (way up in the suspension if you have the skid plate) was deformed just enough to "catch" the edge of the rubber boots making a slight "pop" or "clunk" when turning the wheel to the right. Just a tolerance thing I believe.

Was it on the same side as the axle they replaced?
