Installed Bug Shield and...

I noticed a few things when I took her on the hwy today. First off, the slight whistling I got at hwy speeds from the side mirrors is gone so the ride is quieter. Secondly, when I sprayed the windshield the fluid scattered over a greater area of the glass. Before it was a more localized spray from each nozzle. And lastly, with the wipers off I noticed the rain wasn't running up from the bottom of the glass anymore but was doing so maybe 6" from the top.

Question: With the bugshield in place is the airflow supposed to clear the entire windsheild?

What happens if you lower the four rubber grommets closer to the edge of the hood thereby tilting the angle of the shield upwards which would cause the air flow to overshoot the windshield?

I'm surprised you have any difference with the shield. I don't know anybody who has one, but I always thought they were a gimmick. I'm surprised to find out they actually do something.

That's great review. I'm planning on getting one too pretty soon before going camping in July. Which one did you get? I saw AVS one on Ebay for $65. Not sure if there is much difference between Mopar one and AVS other than the price tag.

Its a Mopar. It went on easy enough but drilling into the underside of the hood was a little unnerving.

Shortly after buying my Jeep Liberty I put one on for appearance because it matched the vent shades for the windows. I don't think it or the rear deflector that I put on the rear do anything at all.

And I've since removed the front bug deflector. Didn't like the unibrow look.

Yeah I see what you mean but I think the shield looks great on a black Pat and with the chrome grill inserts it looks awesome. I also bought off Ebay a Jeep logo and lined it up with the logo underneath the shield-looks great!!

Great idea! Could you please post a picture? I think I'll just get an AVS one to save some $$$ and also a Jeep logo.

I added one, but not for bugs, just to protect the semi-flat front of the hood from stones. I did notice that the hood doesn't flap like it did before the shield.
