well its like seeing a Calibre... same drivetrain... so if you saw an engine/drivetrain mule of a Calibre you wouldn't guess anything like the Patriot could come from that...

Even if it's only a test chassis, how the hell is that thing going to test the overall Jeep powertrain capability, eh?
Mind you, Tip, if what you say is true, I mean, about getting the mother-in-law out real fast, then that's just got to be a plus point, hasn't it? Imagine that; you're on the motorway, clocking up eighty, the door slides open and ...swoooosssh... out she goes...like a Mexican's dog. Swooosssh...
What's needed now is one of those revolving numberplates; you know, the ones that spin round so fast that your registration is just a blur.......
Yep, I'd go for all that, I don't give a Donald Duck if Yugo, Zil and Trabant are jointly making the things...

Now I know us Brits have a sense of humour --but Yugo???? come on thats not funny...or maybe it is they were made from FIAT left overs.....

& for those not in the know ..the pic is a Qubo......

There are a number of 6.1L Chargers and Challengers in Europe; I see them on the forums. But, if you really want one, wait and get the 392 SRT8 Jeep in 2012, which has improved gas mileage and will only cost you about 35p/mile for gas.

I thought the pentastar was replacing all of the v6 motors? Either way, if you're going to mount a v6, they may as well put in the 3.6L Pentastar ....

...So do you buy a patriot now, knowing it's dead and may possibly have a low resale value because of it? Or do wait to see what the replacement is then buy a Prius because all new vehicles are boring anyways? I will say that I love my charger, just wish it had awd, so the SRT8 grand looks very tempting. Once again though, the 8 speed is just around the corner which will be even better....

I really need to quit reading about what's coming and just buy something I like today.
Well you could get a 2011 AWD Charger with the Pentastar or HEMI, which we wish we were in the position to do so, lol. And if one were to buy a Patriot now, it could turn out better if the next one will have a 1.suckling lawnmower motor in it. Either a 2.xL+ turbo-4 or a high output V6 is what they really should be looking at. If they want to go all econo Rose-scented poop, they should save the clown-car parts for a clown-car/mini 2-door Jeep niche line. Hell even the Mini is growing up (http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/impressions/2011-mini-cooper-s-countryman-and-countryman-all4)!

The 3.6L may be too big for the engine bay or they may still run in to fitting problems. I only thought of the 2.7L becuase it's not too muhc larger and is eceonomical yet provides more power than our current Patriot options.
